UO: Hermes should do away with pre-spend and adjust the prices of QB upwards accordingly. If a person needs to spend $20K on stuff to have the opportunity to buy a Birkin or a Kelly, then just tack that on to the price because that's how much it really costs to buy one. That is all.
But then people wouldn't be able to share that they were charming enough to get one by asking nicely lol

My UO that “H journey” in the way social media portrays it is such a BS (no offense for anyone on this “journey” or however you want to call it), and those people selling their “roadmaps” how to get a quota bag is such a scam, I don’t know how desperate people need to be to buy someone’s guide on how to shop at H 🙈 C’mon, Hermes is a brand and business, just like any other brand, ofc it’s their business interest to have people turn into loyal clients, and they are very smart about how they build their business. But it’s a store, you come and shop, that’s it! If you’re lucky, you get your dream bag, if not, well, you still get their top quality products, no need to become desperate just to score a bag.

I feel like whenever people are trying too hard, that’s gives “off vibes” and even SAs can feel it, so ofc they want you to spend the most, “milk it” before giving you what you want. It’s like dating 😂

I think it's wild too but I think I understand where people are coming from if they were to give this type of content any attention. in my experience, most luxury stores are a lot more transparent (and welcoming) than Hermes and let you buy what you want if they have it in stock OR they will help you get it from another location if they don't, or order it for you. it's usually a done deal and not an empty promise. you don't have to have a "loyal relationship" with an SA for service... of course it is NICE to. but not required. they won't say they rarely have bags (or other items they're popular for) as if you're silly for asking.

the way that Hermes doesn't help new clients get the item they came to view or buy is new and strange to some of us. I have never had to buy from other categories at other stores in order to buy a certain bag or jewelry piece or whatever popular item the brand sells. maybe people who wear head to toe luxury just don't understand that you don't have to buy all the RTW and "entry level" jewelry and housewares from other stores, a lot of people do just ask for one item they really want. And no I'm not on a loyalty journey with a car sales man at Ferarri or someone at Rolex, they're often cited for doing business this way as if everyone should be familiar with how they operate. funny people.

the Hermes website is weird in that it's impossible to get bags or bag charms. this happens with non-quota bags too in store. they don't make it easy for new clients. I guess it's their "thing" but it was really surprising to me at first. so I guessing people just want to know what they're doing "wrong" when they have a bad experience. then they look to social media for answers and social media doesn't do nuance well. they're going to rile them up and give them a pretty woman complex about it. it's best to just go shopping and talk to the SA who actually can allocate a bag.

A lot of Hermes items are produced in relatively small quantities, (it's not just the bags, charms, silks, china etc ) Sometimes when they say they don't have something in stock, its possible that there is no subtitle, they genuinely don't have it in stock. Occasionally they jump through hoops to locate something, but often there is just not enough time. Part of the hermes appeal is that not everyone is going to have the same things, there is usually no overstock and they don't destroy 'unsold' items. I guess they up cycle them to 'petit h'.

OK I am prepared to be unpopular:-
1) twillys are just children's toys
2) if you need to accessorize your accessories with a charm you need to have a serious rethink about your life
3) I love my original issue Herbag sac-a-dos but the fastening is an engineering disaster especially when the bag has any weight in it at all
4) Hermes needs more bags with thought-through shoulder straps rather than peppering the market with mad add-ons
5) Etoupe is awful
Agree except for etoupe. This is a cool beige so if your skin colour doesn't suit beige this will definitely work. It also looks good with palladium hardware for the same reason it's on the cool spectrum. I have a greige or taupe coloured leather jacket and it gets a total workout every winter, as well as autumn and spring so I happen to value that neutral. It also looks great against blue reds and white just not the yellows. It can also look great against acid lime in small doses. JIMO.

My UO- some people are so obsessed with B/K, buy fakes and try to fool the rest.
Had an experience last weekend(((
I don't understand fakes.
Insecure people buy them to blend in with "the crowd". But "the crowd" knows what B/K are, so they're not fooling anyone. It is theft from the artists who work hard too. Self-righteous thieves rationalize it because "oh, Birkins are expensive." ya duhh no one is entitled to everything in life

My UO: The 24/24 is better than the Birkin.

No worries about pick pockets, lesser known so no worries about being robbed/profiled. 24/24 straps can go on the shoulder or be carried crossbody. The handle is durable and doesn't feel floppy overtime. Only one twilly is needed. The Fourbi's fit well and it's roomy. Natural slouch so you don't have to worry about the shape, you can just enjoy your purchase to the fullest ability.

I love 24/24. Love the low secondhand prices even more... hehe

New UO.

Browsing through the h.com shoe range I am shocked. Almost every single model is so H'd up and commercial and so ugly. Couple of the heels and classics are OK, but most :yucky:

I am used to Chanel and LV (even Gucci) being logo heavy, but wow H-HHHHHHHHHHeavy!
This comment on h.com shoes reminded me of something I’d like to add to this thread.

Some of the shoes on h.com have closeup videos of models wearing the shoes. With the foot/shoe spinning on some platform etc. I despise those videos! I don’t know why closeup videos of models’ feet are enough to convince me to NOT to buy a pair of shoes.

I agree with your UO on 24/24. It is my favorite style. I secretly hope it stays under the radar but not so much that Hermes stops making it.

I also love the 24/24...I have the 35...so, UO I suppose, without a strap, it's more challenging to get in and out of and with the narrow opening, it's hard to find anything in the depths! As a result, I don't carry it as often as I might though it is noir and would go with everything.

ETA: I think I need a noir Birkin 😜
