At least Corelle dishes come with a breakage guarantee! LOL

Newest UO: sometimes Hermes' pieces grow on you probably due to exposure therapy! Case in point - I used to hate the Picotin (the glorified bucket that it is...), and now? Hmm, I am potentially adding it to my future purchases list...

Oh yes, my friend and I call that Hermes Goggles! It’s definitely a thing!

For example, I used to think the Kelly elan was boring and called it the Kelly Meh-lan. And now I think it’s so cute and how great that it can also be a clutch and I want one!

Chypres… what the heck, these are so fugly. And now I have like 5-6 pairs, actually lost count of how many pairs I own!

Beige Marfa…. More like beige Barfa. Now I’m like oh this is such a nice shade of beige!!

You'll know I'm in trouble when I come back and say omg my dream bag is a B35 in vert yucca!

UO: What is up with Hermes shipping these days? They are totally cheaping out lately!!

I purchased a $5000 dress from Madison and it needed some alterations. I expected it to arrive in a wardrobe box like this... (this is something else my SA sent me)

Instead, it was unceremoniously thrown into a box like this! At least they put some tissue paper in it! Um thanks Hermes!

It is my understanding that your sales person decides on how it will be shipped and even wraps the tissue. It sounds like the alteration person is the one to blame. Maybe mention it to your SA?

I do agree with general cheating out. I was told there is no longer a raincoat in bags because they’re going green? How much plastic can those possibly use?

I can confirm the raincoat not being standard. I had to specifically ask for one for the bag I just purchased. I got it right away and have already used it many times. I know some people don’t use them at all but I find that in places where the weather swings unpredictably it was very useful.

My potential UO ( although more of an answer) is
It's not the one plastic raincoat- it's the accumulated burden of hundreds of thousands of them- the energy/materials/finance/and waste that goes into manufacturing an item that only (a guess on my part) 0.01% of the recipients use ( as it's generally agreed they are absolutely useless when it actually rains LOL ).
But to stay OT, I'll go with a classic- my UO is, that although I can admire the color coordination and tying skills of others, I don't like twillys on handles, etc. Overly fussy and attention grabbing IMUO.

Of course I understand. It’s the thousands of bags however H is not necessarily a green company or markets itself as green. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be giving giant receipt envelopes and a huge box for every little item. These are parts of luxury shopping so they have to have it for the shopper to get the full upscale experience however this raincoat is years of use for me way past the lifespan of that orange box that consumed arguably just as much of a planet resource. So, like I said, just feels cheap. Not green. In my opinion.

To stay on topic, my UO is that those fabric multicolor straps are ugly. I love Crossbody option and wish they were multiple colorful widely available leather strap options. I know personally I would own several.

Lol yes I assumed it was alterations because I knew my SA would never send me something in this condition!!!
But even so, shouldn’t the tailor care about how they package the item they just worked on??

Anyways it’s not a big deal. I was just honestly stunned when I opened the box! I was already surprised it came in a regular box so imagine my surprise when I opened it!!

Another shipping UO: on the other end of the spectrum, I have a package coming from FSH. They usually ship via DHL but this time it is going by Ferrari, and Ferrari wanted me to sign a power of attorney (and with a witness signature!) in order for them to handle the customs! I thought THAT was a little over!! At least they didn’t need it notarized too!

(Before anyone gets too excited, no it’s not a bag or really anything that valuable LOL!)

Hopefully your China is packaged well and customs doesn’t open it lol. Am excited for you to get it

UO: the reason why I don’t use the raincoats is different from reasons others have voiced. I am incapable of folding them back up. :)

Hahahaha I am dying because we just went shopping and the store manager was so sweet and said “we just got this in and I knew you would love it so I set it aside for you!”
Calvi duo….. in VERT YUCCA!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

It is actually nicer in person than online. So of course I couldn’t say no and took it home LOLOL!!

Sorry @Bdbunny, that's totally unacceptable. Honestly, that's worthy of a conversation with your SA IMO; I mean, I wouldn't read the riot act but on the off chance that the shipping supervisor was focusing on something else (instead of their job ) Hermes should be made aware that that's what some of their people are up to when unsupervised.

💯 agree with this. My first thought was “mmmm….I wonder if they’ll get rid of paper receipts and the huge orange box!”. To be honest I get rid of the majority of the boxes anyway. My husband was shocked that I wasn’t keeping them for some future “resale opportunities”

…my response “love, if I ever sold anything we wouldn’t be discussing my expanding closet needs”😁😂🤣

The H goggles are real. After my b!tching about the Mini J, I succumbed to it when an acceptable spec comes along. That said, I still think the strap is hideous. I only got it because I have a use for this bag.

My UO is the day is that I don’t need more bags.

I’m also unhappy about Hermes no longer giving raincoats with bags. When we spend small fortunes on their bags, the least they can do is keep giving us the little sheets of plastic to protect them from the rain.

We aren’t throwing these plastic raincoats into landfills. We’re storing them inside our bags to use and reuse on-the-go.

This is the same stinginess we saw when VCA tried to stop giving out travel pouches for jewelry under the guise of sustainability, despite many customers using their travel pouches as their primary storage method because the pouches are far less bulky than the large, rigid primary jewelry boxes (which we still want to have too … VCA - if you’re reading this, do not stop giving out regular jewelry boxes either).

When customers buy from luxury stores, we want the accompanying accessories to be able to protect and store our luxury items when using and traveling with them.
