Totally get it but tall people need big bags to look proportional! I tried on a 25 and it looked like I robbed a kid 🤣

Agreed.

But, IMUO, the proportionality and size of one's H bag depends on the shape of one's body, not just size/height. Blessed, curvy ladies can rock small Ks, but I look terrible (mid-scale-less-curves).

When I was researching between 30 and 35, I came across this picture in internet. Everyone looks good with their bags and the taller lady looks good with smaller B as I guess, she’s willowy. While the lady in black is by no means large, she rocks her B35. Also the clothes and shoes play a huge role on which size is suitable. The lady in white looks great with her mini.

So I guess my UO is everyone should wear their bags in whatever way they prefer as there’s no fixed formula.

I dont really find BKs as financial investments. I only own regular leather BKs though. I have resold some in the past which didnt work for me (color/ size) and only got paid it’s retail price. Now thinking of all my prespend, i actually lost money. Now if i personally sell the bag, i might be able to sell it at consignment store marked up prices but i dont have a circle of people around me who likes luxury goods evenmore so buy a bag well worth 5 digits and to pay me in cash and in full (not installments and you know how that works when someone owes u money—- youll be hunting for these people to pay you their dues). Id rather have a middle person do the selling.

This was an interesting post to me! :flowers:

Did you keep the items that were part of your prespend? I have heard this sentiment before from others of course but I'm always curious as to how we are losing money should we decide to sell based on prespend, when we also still own those items we purchased that aren't QB... For the most part, I own almost everything to this day that I guess I would lump into my prespend.. but I don't look at it that way I suppose; I like everything (almost, ha!) that I have bought outside of QB, especially home goods and RTW.

So to be OT, maybe that is my own UO is that I like the "other stuff" that I've been fortunate to acquire over the years.. but I know that others don't share the same opinion for sure.

I own probably 80% of my prespend. Given the exclusivity of anything H, some of them didnt work out for me especially since most of them are bought based off of other of people using or wearing them (online pics/ reviews and videos). I realized some of them didnt work out for me. For example, the sellier K28 looks absolutely gorgeous in pics but i personally find it hard to use and very stiff and in the long run had a fear of damaging it with the way i had to close or open the flap. A mini K flap would probably be easier to open but of course i wont know that either coz i havent touched one. Lol
Some presepnd items would either have stain on them or not in perfect condition (i might have used it once or twice though but it sends my OCD on overdrive) 😂
Or i would sell some items to declutter and curate a minimalist collection (again OCD is at work)
And to be transparent, some of the presepend are due to FOMO sadly.

My UO is I don’t like Hermes shoes, especially those with Kelly buckle as it’s completely unnecessary detail… I also don’t like the look of Oran sandals. Same for their jewelry line, I don’t need my jewelry to have a big H, lock or Kelly-inspired elements…

The métiers I appreciate at Hermes the most are their silk accessories, bags and homeware… some beauty products and perfumes are great too.

I also don’t like Herbag, it feels plasticky and looks like a cheaply made bag… if I’m paying Hermes money, I want their leather not some canvas material. Another style I’m not a fan of is Evelyne… I don’t need a big H on my bag and those holes look really ugly to me🙈

Another UO I don’t understand why pink colors are so popular for BKC, especially on resale. It makes the bags look too girly, like it’s a bag for a girl, not a grown up woman.

For me the OG Hermes is associated with some class and elegance, timeless style, so muted tones and neutrals (black, gold and some white/grey shades are ok) and deep shades like dark green, deep red and blue navy, deep brown. If I want a pop of color I can add a Twilly

If styled properly these shades don’t age the wearer, but make you look elegant and sophisticated, that’s what I want to look like when I wear Hermes.

My UO is the other end of the spectrum.
I believe so many Hermès styles can come off as staid or matronly especially in large sizes so the colours bring in a lot of fun. The 'standard' for elegant colours shouldn't be a one size fit all. Nature is colourful.

PS- I have a Herbag in pink 😁, it is not in Berline canvas though ( that will be the coated one).

My latest UO came about after reading a comment from a poster on one of the threads who described the whole preoccupation with prespend as 'toxic'.
I agree with this..and in fact I find the obsession and fervor around aquiring a K or B really distateful at the moment...reading and hearing of adults crying and begging for a bag, being vile to SA's etc just gives me the 'YUK'.
I cant bear the drama and envy that seems to be never far for the surface when reading through various shopping or influencer threads.
Hermes shopping seems to have become like a competitive sport..who can spend most, get the best offers, the best SAs, the fastest offer etc etc
Its sad especially when I hear of so many people just plotting what to buy next and overstretching themselves in order to get an offer of a bag.
I miss the old days...

So agree with the bolded part!
