What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

I dont really find BKs as financial investments. I only own regular leather BKs though. I have resold some in the past which didnt work for me (color/ size) and only got paid it’s retail price. Now thinking of all my prespend, i actually lost money. Now if i personally sell the bag, i might be able to sell it at consignment store marked up prices but i dont have a circle of people around me who likes luxury goods evenmore so buy a bag well worth 5 digits and to pay me in cash and in full (not installments and you know how that works when someone owes u money—- youll be hunting for these people to pay you their dues). Id rather have a middle person do the selling.

My related unpopular opinion is that I don't understand how a working person or a parent runs around all day with a 25 or smaller bag unless they have a car or car/driver. Running errands - easy. But if I'm out all day I need a wrap and a water bottle and possibly an umbrella. I bought a teeny tiny water bottle that kind of fits in a Kelly 25...but still! Again, maybe this is an opinion from a walking city, where driving is at best impractical.
100% agree. My UO is that the mini bags are not a good representation of Hermes as luxury+utility. I like to walk/use public transportation during my travels (when I want to use my Kelly). I love my K25 retourne in the cooler season when I can fit a small water bottle sideways but the 28 retourne (whenever I can get one) would be perfection for summer travels as it will be able to hold my small Japanese sun umbrella too.

To stay on topic, my UO is that mini Evelyn looks like a bag an SA would carry (ducking under my desk from all the mini Evelyns that will be flying at me right now)
*dresses in all black with a silk scarf, and my Mini Evie and hovers near the stockroom door during my next visit to the boutique*

My UO is I don’t understand the hype for smaller bags. I’m 5’6 with average built and I cannot imagine myself carrying a bag smaller than Birkin 35, Kelly 32, or Constance 24. All my bags are big and the smallest size I own is a Verrou 21. I don’t see myself as traditional (I know most people nowadays are aspiring for a Birkin 25 or Mini Kelly) but more of practical.
My motto, if it can fit my phone, car keys, glasses, lipstick and wallet, I don't carry it.

For my very first post, I tought I share my UO.
They are just bags… no one NEEDS one. 🍀 We might want or drool over some pieces, but we might start to chill and just enjoy the moments in the boutiques as for what they are… moments of guilty pleasure and stop trying to figure out a whole battle plan as we would go to war 😃 hope I am still alive after this message 😝

To capitalize on your UO (which I agree with 100%!): My UO opinion is that I love the way a B and a K look when worn casually, much more than I like when they’re worn all prim and proper. Better still, I love it when the B is wide open with the wearer’s stuff sticking out (think water bottle, cardigan/wrap), just like you would do with any old tote. Less fond of an open K, but casually slung across the body? Yes, please! Jeans are great with either, and I can often be found wearing my B with head to toe lululemon - and I don’t regret that fashion choice. Guess I had better not lunch!

ETA: And it’s a good thing I don’t Insta, apparently!
I only wear my Ks and Bs casually because I don't go anywhere any more formal. They'd never get used otherwise.
I get hung up on the white contrast stitching getting dirty.
Before they started making them regularly, I had an SO made with white stitching. None of my white stitched bags have dirty threads. I think you'd really have to beat them around to dirty them that much.

My uo is that I don’t get carrying a huge bag everyday unless you’re lugging diapers or traveling. A b35 is beautiful for travel but frankly looks like luggage when you’re at the mall.

I don’t carry makeup daily so even a k25 has room to spare as my everyday bag. I’ve been using it abroad and I carry a little more when I travel - passport + glasses. K25 still carries everything I need.

I have a black Halzan with white stitching. Have had it for over 7 years, I'm till hung up that the stitching will get dirty.

Totally get it but tall people need big bags to look proportional! I tried on a 25 and it looked like I robbed a kid 🤣

I need and love all sizes! B35/GP 36 & larger bags are not for the mall but for office days (laptop, 2 phones, gym stuff & essentials).

Haha. I was feeling like that as well coming from the land of big bags and I’m short! And while I am short I am by NO means dainty (the horror) I am a big bag fan. My true love is a b35 and k32. I still use my 35s often. For work I have never taken a 25 as I would look silly trying to fit it all in.
