Probably very popularI don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, maybe popular, but here goes mine:
The modern Hermès customer is a masochist. The mental energies devoted to quotas, prespend, influencers, lottery appointment, how to be supplicant towards SAs (!!!!!), have shifted the focus from appreciating the bags themselves to navigating a complex social interaction where one party is in a position of power and the other is essentially begging for the opportunity to make a purchase. This dynamic disempowers the customer and shifts their attention away from the actual merits of the bag, such as its design, materials, craftsmanship, how it fits into their personal style, and ultimately their enjoyment of the bag/s.

or those with a long history who continue to shop, both relatively small pools. I do believe that if one does not love boutique merchandise, and if one is unwilling to spend for said merchandise, it is both unrealistic and masochistic to try to buy a bag from the boutique today.
my unpopular opinions are that the demand of these bags will wan, and reseller prices, always an indication, are already softening. It’s a matter of time. Those who simply view an H bag as a coveted fashion item or flex will find the wait intolerable and move to other things. The rest of us will still be here to discover, among other things, new interpretations of old classics. In addition, I don’t see H shopping as a power play. There are plenty of beautiful things in the world, and nowadays, plenty of ways to find the right thing. It‘s a business model and supply and demand. Decades ago, before the euro, those who had a bit disposable income, could easily travel abroad to shop for luxury items. I think of this as the pendulum swinging the other way.
