My unpopular opinion #googolplex is that I don't think it's a crime to put a bag on the floor. I understand and respect that it's a cultural belief for many (that's different), and I wouldn't put a bag on, say, a public restroom floor, but my floor at home is spotless and frankly a lot more germ-free than, say, a restaurant seat that 25 people have sat in that day alone. Judge away!

I put most of bags on the floor- if they have the little legs on bottom then go on the floor. I put all of my birkins and kellys on the floor.

Amen! That’s what the feet are for (within reason).

Your opinion is not that unpopular. I have put a few B and K on the floor at home after I read that previous unpopular opinion. While my floor is not as spotless as yours, it is still okay. I can always wipe the feet if I have to. And I put it on the floor at places that I deem clean enough too, such as the H boutiques. I might have made a few people cringe. My bag my choice.

I agree with the most of your opinion except for one thing (and a little OT, apologies) - that MAGNIFICENT bag of yours IS VISITING ROYALTY!

Well...maybe my floors aren't always "spotless" but they aren't carrying anything virulent ;)

Fauve!

This is going to be sacrilegious for this site but my bags are a vessel to carry the stuff I don’t want strewn on the floor. A very pretty vessel and one I am generally attached to but a vessel nonetheless.

So, while I won’t put it on the floor in a bathroom, it’s not going on the table at dinner nor is it getting its own seat. a”And I’m not putting it on the counter or a piece of furniture if I go to a friend’s house, unless there is one readily available for that purpose. It’s going on the floor.

I will never forget someone actually having the vapors because there was a “wildlife” shot where some poor woman put her Birkin on the “actual dirt ground”.

I will admit i think it’s simultaneously sweet and a bit nauseating when a restaurant provides me a handbag stool. One one hand, thank you; on the other hand, what has the world come to
I also notice that certain restaurants will only pull these stools out for Birkins, Kellys, and other particularly noticeable bags.

omg "the vapors"

I do have the say the Dior restaurant pulled out a stool for our beat up reusable tote that was holding our umbrellas and hats!

I just recognize that they don’t truly understand giving me yet another thing I can trip over (beyond my two feet) is just foolish behaviour and going to result in a clean up at table four.

Putting your bag on an empty chair at restaurants I get. I do that all the time. I agree a bag stool, even though I've gotten them, does feel a bit extra. What I don't like is when people put their bags on the table/bar. To me it screams "Look at me/look at my bag!"
