I saw a Space Malice in Paris and was blown away! The detailing and craftsmanship is amazing! I immediately understood why it cost that much, when initially I didn’t, with the different skins and colors used! In my unpopular opinion it has a better use of skin than a touch kelly! I can’t remember which member mentioned it but it also comes in the blue box!

My other unpopular opinion is the space malice shouldn’t have been on the website. It should only be offered to those that can see it in person. I also think it should only be offered to those that appreciates the brands heritage and craft. Putting it on the website especially being able to add 20+ to the cart at one point cheapens it. All H need is to do is create fomo like the birkins and Kelly’s and people would be going crazy

I think lots of people are okay with the bag design, it’s the price tag that is seemingly absurd. I understand why it is priced as it is but if it were $2,270 rather than $22,700 I think many people would be happy to purchase and wear it. Just look at how successful novelty bags are at other brands.

I saw it close-up in Harrods (upstairs). I thought it was lovely, so much work, but even taking all that into account, the price as stratospheric as the bag's theme.

Another popular opinion. I think Hermes prices a Ltd Ed item by thinking-up a number, quadrupling it, multiply that by 3 and the adding the guesstimate ages of all the people standing closest to the nearest window, chuck-in another a couple of noughts + VAT.

I agree. I am not very sure why they put this special bag online, it's technically a Horizon and this has never really happened otherwise. 20+ pieces ???
I was offered this twice at different stores in London by my very kind SAs and was blown away by the detailed craftsmanship. And yes it comes in the blue box. I personally have no connection with rockets and it's a bit too much going on for my personal taste (plus the strap is so "extra") otherwise it would have been added to my collection by now. :-)

I doubt if there were 20 online. There was probably one or two ever. Their "shopping cart" software does not check the inventory count. It just cares about whether there is at least one. They can cancel the order or reduce the quantity during the fulfillment phase.

For me, that bag is very special even though it is on the louder side, like you said. I am open to add another Sac a Malice in the future. And it has to be one that relates to me too.

The formula is very funny. But I think your formula is more applicable to Horizon. The Limited Ed BKC are not that crazily priced. In fact, I think they are quite reasonably priced. I did notice that the higher priced items are usually more labor intensive.

For example, the Cargo HAC 40 in Toile and leather was 35k+ (I forgot the exact number). While it was a very beautiful bag, it was almost as much as the Endless Road (which is another much ridiculed bag on this forum). I said no to the Cargo because of its price tag.

My next unpopular opinion is that I LOVE the Endless Road. Technically, it belongs to DH. It is a piece of art.

On the topic of unpopular opinions about the sac malice and Hermes, I absolutely love the strap it comes with. I saw a lucky someone wear the strap on her black Kelly and still think about it. The strap alone would be sold for over $6k, taking into account all the exotic skins and craftsmanship. So my (not so) unpopular opinion is that the bag is priced at what ought to be priced at.

My unpopular opinion is that what truly no longer makes sense at Hermes is their costume jewelry department. This should be called the Frankenstein pendant. Hermes used to come up with new designs, and now, the design team simply combines existing designs. I am waiting for the day the H Heure and Medor combination watch will be released.

Yes there were 21 pieces. One particular day (a couple months ago) I added it to the cart and was able to click the plus sign to add it 21 times. I wanted to see how many was listed because it was always there. I’ve never been able to add a pico or herbag 21 times! I think I may have mentioned it in the thread at the time.

Now whether or not the software got it wrong is beyond me. Or that could have been how many bags they had altogether but I clicked add to cart that amount of times myself. Simply because I always saw it and was curious. I doubt there was only one or two which is probably why it was online for so long. Someone bought at least one, I’m sure. Heck someone bought those darn bridado’s lol.

Which here is another unpopular option (maybe not in this forum). I liked the bridado but not enough to buy it lol. The bridado’s leather is much softer and better constructed than those Uber popular Chanel 22s. Yes because the 22s are more polish on social media it’s more desirable. Although people claimed to hate the big “Chanel” on the back they still buy it over a better made backpack. Yet, we are in a time we’re people claim to love quality and “quiet” luxury.

There definitely weren't enough made for there to be 20 online. I don't remember the exact number I was given, but it wasn't many. Odds are that no one expected anyone to buy multiples of this bag, so didn't bother to set an inventory number in the back-end of the online store.

Probably not that unpopular opinion: My puppy could do a better job running Hermès e-commerce.

My new unpopular opinion is that this diversion of this thread just cost me 15000€ (Edit: and change LOL). The point @J'adore Hermes made about the Space Malice strap was the last straw

Now the bolded makes sense. Not to mention my total was close to 500k  Surely that would’ve been cancelled. That website definitely leaves much to be desired!

Pics please! :P

Yes, I agree with @J'adore Hermes about the use of that strap. I planned to use it that way when I get a K with PHW (hopefully in Box) eventually. And when you get this blue box, you will see that the box is different from most of the other blue boxes. I don't want to talk about the details to help the lazy counterfeiters. Congrats!!!

I played with the H.com shopping cart yesterday out of curiosity. I have able to add a size 38 RTW 20+ times. Knowing how hard it is to get anything my size (not just post pandemic) in the US, either they just set the limit to an incorrect number or the "real-time" inventory cache was just a flag.

I am a huge Chaîne d'Ancre fan but for some reason I find the Chaîne D'Ancre To Go bag to be ugly - and I know that this is a strong word. I have seen it in the store and instead of making my heart jump up, it went down like subway down. I was so disappointed! I can't tell you why but I think something is off with the design. Given the craze that was going around me when others saw it in the store as well, I believe this qualifies as an unpopular opinion.

My unpopular opinion #googolplex is that I don't think it's a crime to put a bag on the floor. I understand and respect that it's a cultural belief for many (that's different), and I wouldn't put a bag on, say, a public restroom floor, but my floor at home is spotless and frankly a lot more germ-free than, say, a restaurant seat that 25 people have sat in that day alone. It is just a handbag, not visiting royalty. Judge away!
