What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

Here's an unpopular or maybe not so unpopular opinion: no posting your online cart screenshot at all. Tell us how excited you are that you got a bag, or show us the ACTUAL BAG YOU BOUGHT when it arrives. But don't show us that you bought multiple bags from the website and then never show up with a mod shot featuring ANY of them
I have been wanting to post the exact same opinion here but was afraid of the backlash... thank you :)

"Your latest Hermes purchase" is not a screenshot - it's the actual bag...

I actually posted the below in the thread about whether luxury shopping is too complicated (I’ll include the link to that thread at the bottom of my post in case anyone wants to check it out), but it probably belongs here. Slight edit at the beginning to fit more as a standalone post in this thread, versus part of a longer post in the other thread.

Don’t get me started on being told by the greeter at Hermes that the only bags for sale are those on display. I know the drill and anyone who doesn’t (or simply doesn’t care) is going to badger an SA about a bag anyway. I’ve seen it. Many times. So maybe stop treating all customers from the get-go as only after a quota bag? The shopping experience might just be more pleasant on both sides.

Also, having just come back from a trip to Chicago, which included a stop in the H store there (not my home store), it would be great if SAs didn’t bother to ask what you are interested in if they are only going to tell you nothing is available. I have four bag charms on my list and, when I saw the paltry display of two yellow Oran charms in the boutique, I simply asked if that was all they had. The SA confirmed it was, which is fine (and what I expected to hear). However, he then went on to ask which ones were on my list, only to have him tell me that leather goods are hard to come by when I answered his question. Leather goods? Hard to come by at H? No duh. But please don’t get my hopes up, only to dash them! I expected a no; he could have just left it at that. We are considering Chicago as a retirement location. Why torture a potential client? That exchange made it such that I would look to a different SA there if I became a regular client.

Here’s the link to the luxury shopping thread for those who might be interested.

I would love to hear opinions to help a fairly new (2 years) H devotee, after the usual progression(LV, Chanel). Since there was no H boutique where I live, I over paid for first a black togo birkin, ghw, a kelly 32 ostrich, bothb8n excellent condition, and just popped at a better price for a birkin rouge casaque in epsom. Now I see a really low, low price on an orange kelly 32 in just good condition. My question is should I buy the inexpensive (relatively) bag since I now hate to carry my dearly loved, but pricier bags. Does a bag you would not be concerned about make sense even if my husband will be certain I've lost my mind? Help!
Why do you hate carrying your bags? Do you like carrying your Kelly? Are you avoiding your ostrich baby because of the cost, the exotics or is there something about the bag?

If it’s about the cost - the money is already gone. Unless you plan on reselling, money doesn’t matter.

Is it the fact that your Kelly is exotic?

Is it about the style? The Kelly was designed as a travel bag - load it up, then unload at your destination. A new cheaper Kelly won’t make it easier.

Personally, if you are hesitating a lot with your Birkin and Kelly, I think you need to start looking at other bag styles. What do you find yourself reaching for instead? If you are grabbing a LV Noe, maybe you should look at the Market Bag, or picotin. If you keep carrying the Flap, have you thought about a Dalvy or a vintage flap bag like the Fonsbelle or Piano? Or a Boldie? Hermes has made a lot of different styles over the last 80 years, and I’m sure they have made the perfect bag for you.

I guarantee there would be a sudden decline in craie x (pink or grey) Epsom with (rose) gold hardware special order mini bags being ordered.

My unpopular opinion is why make a special order that can be found in every resale site. Now, if those are your favorite color combinations, go ahead! A special order is a personal choice and expression, so I can’t judge. I am sure most would not like my special orders.

Another (hopefully not so) unpopular opinion is why do people (especially social media influencers) take pictures with their used shoes on clothes. Please don’t put your Oran sandals that have blackened soles on your shirt or scarf of the day!
Thank you for saying this!! Most times I see those posts...:yucky:...I'll take your word for it that it matches perfectly.:rolleyes:Please no more of those photos!!:ty::flowers:

My latest (hopefully fun) unpopular opinion - some of the hardware stickers are so hard to take off?? Just spent 5 minutes fighting the stickers on a turn lock…

(Ok I know this is probably just me not doing it right but I genuinely was struggling!)
Actually I struggled to take off stickers too on my last purchase. I had to use my nails and was nervous to scratch it, but I couldn’t find where to pick the edge of sticker and also one part even left little bit of glue on hardware.

Ok good to know it’s not just me :lol:

Yeah same - I couldn’t figure out where the edge was; I think they were just super flush and tight! I was struggling to peel the ones on the strap hooks for the same reason before I realized I can click open those hooks first (so that part gets separated and I can peel easily)

Omg seriously! Not just you! I had like 829 stickers on my constance! If you see a sticker on any of my things give a sister some grace because these things take forever to remove

Definitely not just you! Only yesterday I peeled off some torn bits of sticker on a clic h card holder that I have been using for ages!

My latest unpopular opinion is that I'm utterly sick and tired of seeing so many mini Kelly on a daily basis on the streets of London.
I've seen them worn by men, young (very young like early early teen) girls (mainly middle eastern young girls), older women, I mean every day I must see about 5 minimum.
Either theres a zillion good fakes being pumped out somewhere or there are many being sold globally at the moment.
I seldom see a Kelly larger than a 25 and then very seldom..
Frankly I'm bored of the sight of the MK!

Firstly, there are MK fakes easily available. Secondly, you aren't gonna bag slap me if we run into each other are you? :amazed::graucho::crybaby:

I'd say the MK is the most easily and commonly faked H bag at the moment.
