What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

I am in Paris with my sister and niece and the three of us have been trying for leather appointments. For my sister. The first two days as geniuses we messed up the process. Now I got one for tomorrow. Then my sister declared she does not want to buy a new bag..... so i have to go, even though I don't either which is the unpopular opinion.... because, i am not crazy!

so tomorrow i ask for the impossible bag!

I do not quite get the appeal of the exotic Touch bags. In general, the handles are the more prominent exotic parts, yet many cover them up with twillies to protect the handles. On the Birkin, the flap that is in exotic skin can not be clearly seen when open.

Then, I think the juxtaposition of a shiny exotic skin and Epsom really brings out how plasticky Epsom looks. I do not find Epsom to look good with any exotic especially not on smaller bags. I think touch looks better on Togo. The vintage touch bags that put crocodile with box are more aesthetically pleasing as they both have mirror finishes.

I agree. I don’t think Touch really makes sense on a Birkin and it looks odd on a 24/24. I do quite like it on a Kelly but the leather combination sometimes doesn’t work for me. I don’t like lizard with Togo, for instance.

I hate swift leather. It's one and done for me. (Swift ML touch Gold on gold). When it gets even a bit wet (as in damp hands making contact), it turns a slight green, there is a random fold in the middle of the bag and I did not even squish it. NEVER again. As I was at the cashier paying for my latest bag, I was ranting about how I much I dislike swift leather and telling my SA to never offer me one again.

You and me both! I got a make-up stain on my Constance (swift) and was done. It barely came off!

I am so sorry the lottery is not working for you yet. Last time I was in Paris I failed too.

The good news is that my list is ungettable bags and so when you do get the lottery my acquisition will not more or less impact your chances.

I am here in Paris too, took a look through the Mothership and applied for appointments. It may actually be a relief NOT to get a leather appointment because this year was supposed to be my Year of Austerity. Everything that I love I already have.

Year of Austerity . I decided my personal bag quota for the year was exceeded in March…. And then….. and then…. A love of Hermès is not conducive to such restrictions!

Kelly Pochette is better than Mini Kelly II. I would take Kelly Pochette over Mini Kelly II anytime. It fits a little bit more, has that evening/going out feel to it and the price difference seals the deal for me. I absolutely love the original Mini Kelly and still hoping to find one in mint condition but meanwhile Kelly Pochette is my ultimate choice for an evening bag.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, so if it has, kindly excuse me (too many pages to go looking)
is that Petit H is not available at selected H stores across the country.
I remember when it was here for an event on Madison.. it was fun & there were great items!
There are so many wonderful & charming Petit H items ( for gifting & interest, just missing that here in US)
The selection from H.com is limited & one doesn't have the choice of choosing what they want
like they could in Paris
It's all random, JMO

Yep and sadly, when you order petit H blindly from online, theyll send you the ugliest of colors. Like the colors that in person shoppers never wanted. Kind of like ordering to go fastfood, youll realize when you get home they packed you double cook or leftover french fries lol and it would be a hassle to return them or complain about it.

Yes this is my opinion and experience too. That's why I now prefer to go and select my own in person, at Sevres or at an ongoing petit h event.
