Bags are bags and they look variously good on various people, whether m/f/enby/inter, but they are intended to carry "stuff" and adorn our outfits so should be genderless.
Yep! I once walked into a LV store and looked at the Horizon roll on suitcase in Monogram Eclipse. A male SA asked if I was looking for a gift. I said, no for myself. He stepped back and exclaimed "you are looking for a man's suitcase for yourself"? It was such a dramatic exclamation, that I said, 'no thank you' and left the store, utterly embarrassed. LOL. I never bought that suitcase, but I still love it.

That's great, I have 5 Box bags, 3 different colours. I hope that Box becomes a new popular option.
I hope so! I love Box. It would be great to see more of it.
I wonder what he says to the many cool guys here who carry Kellys...35/32/28/25/20.
I saw a guy at a very popular LA place carrying a beautiful SO B40. No one thought twice about it.

Here's another sure to be unpopular one. Why are H (or any) bags gendered? As far as I can see, the only bags H makes that can really carry a laptop are called "men's", but pretty much everyone has a laptop these days. And are Birkins, Kellys, Lindys, Constances, Picotins, etc. really for any specific group?

Totally agree. The first time I saw a man carrying a Birkin (a 35 in I think bleu électrique) at a gallery in Melbourne it looked utterly right. Frequent visitor to the guys and their Hermès thread here!

My unpopular opinion is, Hermes not making as many bigger sized bags as quite a few might like is not necessarily a bad thing. These sizes are not as sought after right now and are thus easier to request, vintage or gently used ones are priced accordingly and it is much easier to find a good buy, even in exotics and limited editions. Once the trend shifts the other way, the new retail prices would be far higher. Besides, for many, many years, some of us who are more petite couldn't find small bags which suited us as easily as now. I will always remember my first time trying on a B35 with my namesake SA in PC Hooftstraat and how we both burst out laughing immediately. I could have sat in that bag.
There are always ways to look at things in a more positive light. ;)

Agree... I need to carry a laptop and papers to work each day (but want to still try to look chic!) and I haven't found a H bag that suits (and I also can't get my hands on a bigger Birkin / Kelly from my store). I joke with my SA that H should be for everyday life, not just for weekends and IG; maybe H doesn't think its female customers have to actually work to purchase their items...

I am happy some people enjoy the small bag trend because it best suits their frame (and not just because it's in vogue). However, there are others that need bigger sizes because small bags look silly to their frames, and they're currently out of luck. In short, as echoed above, can the boutiques have a range of items for a broader client base please

I was tiny bit turned off when SA actually used expression 'h fairy'...Do I give off that I would say something like that? LOL
That would turn me off too, ‘h fairy’ indeed. Some SAs waste too much time on line and they think we are like what… nine years old? Still I guess it must be bewildering for some SA’s all that social media frenzy. I certainly would not want to deal with some of the angst going on there in the pursuit for bags.

My unpopular opinion..the Birkin Faubourg is ridiculous. My opinion is a Birkin is supposed to be a carryall tote bag. Having said that, I can appreciate the work that goes into making it because I really love the brand and the artisanal aspect of it. But I would feel so ridiculous walking around with a bag that has a bunch of little windows on it, lol. I also think those tiny Kelly doll bags are just as ridiculous if not worse. I’m not a child, and I don’t understand why they’re making bags to look like dolls for grown women. The little arms are so freaky.
