What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

The tiny bags are so underwhelming. I dont have mini K’ but they look like WOC’s to me. Same reason i’ll never get a constance or kelly to go etc. They literally are wallets with a strap, theyre not bags and i would feel naked wearing a wallet with a strap.

In terms of large bags, @880 oversized picotin comes to mind. Ive seen one of the instagram girls sport it on Paris fashion week.

Next on my list will be a slouchy K32 in a desirable color. Lesser competition for now hopefully because it’s a bigger bag lol

They hardly make any 35 Bs and 32 Ks anymore period.

Every new bag I'm offered or in the display cabinet is tiny, Epsom, pink or a man's.
Epsom, Epsom, Epsom! Pastels, Pastels, Pastels! Mini, Mini, Mini! These words echo in H stores all around the world, but the echo is dizzying in the bag section of FSH with the introduction of a new word: Appointment, Appointment, Appointment!

My SAs have told me that countless clients come in with pictures from Instagram asking for that exact bag. All the bags the algorithm and influencers feed into the echo chamber are small in Epsom or Togo. When someone comes in asking specifically not for epsom or Togo, it’s exciting. But alas, the stock rooms are filled with these demanded combinations. Interestingly, Hermes is definitely ramping up production of heritage leather bags. Box is back though rare in any size 28/30 and up.

Those specs suit me just fine.

:ghi5:

I haven't offered a women's brown bag since 2009. I since found out even that was originally created for men.

That's another unpopular H opinion. Apart for black, I like brown H bags. That did not go down at all well with my multi-colour loving Russian SA. "We can always get you Gold or Black, why don't you take the Granny/Capicine/Lime now?"

That's great, I have 5 Box bags, 3 different colours. I hope that Box becomes a new popular option.

Direct quote from my SM at the last SO appointment :
“NO! You have enough black.”
And that’s apparently why I have a purple bag coming. Where is that facepalm emoji?

Larger sizes are coming back… not sure what those solely chasing minis will do then. The tide always turns. One should have a variety of sizes depending on how much one needs to carry or for what occasion
(But when the trend was for 35B/32K, I still preferred 30B/28K lol)
@880 you are always ahead of the fashion curve. My most used bag currently is a preloved k32! It’s a perfect size to carry it all. I am looking forward to the k28. Who knows, in the future I may even explore the coveted k25. ❤️

People have been saying this for years...larger sizes will be back...but for the first time, I am feeling it. I just bought my first B35 in five years and it feels really right (especially because it's my first large exotic).

My unpopular opinion # (insert exponent here) is that those who live for the look they post on socials will still show off tiny bags, or anything really extreme/stylized. (Jacquemus's Chiquito was originally a joke on this, and look how popular it is now! He had to make bigger and smaller versions  )

And of course we've all seen this (MSCHF is way behind the Jacquemus joke though!):Screenshot 2023-07-06 at 1.21.01 PM.png

Here's another sure to be unpopular one. Why are H (or any) bags gendered? As far as I can see, the only bags H makes that can really carry a laptop are called "men's", but pretty much everyone has a laptop these days. And are Birkins, Kellys, Lindys, Constances, Picotins, etc. really for any specific group?
Bags are bags and they look variously good on various people, whether m/f/enby/inter, but they are intended to carry "stuff" and adorn our outfits so should be genderless.

@papertiger so true..
I went to the boutique today and chatted to my SA about maybe starting another wishlist because my last expired.
I mentioned I was most interested in a Kelly 32 or maybe 35.
His reaction?
He hadn't seen any Kellys larger than 28 in store this year.
I didn't bother to put in a new wish.
I'm not into Barbiecore and I carry a lot of crap on a daily basis.
Unpopular opinion..
Hermes needs to appeal to a broader client base
