@doloresmia, did you mean to post here :P :

:hugs::lol:
unpopular opinion : I love swift leather, and I like wear on bags. i think barenia is somewhat overrated, though I do like smooth barenia. Used to love vache natural but rarely see it anymore
Oh, i didn't even know of this thread. hilarious and fabulous! I will post here too. Right now i am too busy. I am pretending to weed the garden waiting for UPS.

I hope Hermes will sell micro versions of the rodeo and pegase charms. I think they would look great on smaller bags. Just enough accent but not overpowering the bag.
I think this suggestion above would be super cute and popular

unpopular opinion :

not sure why people want to correct the natural tendency of leather to slouch or smooch in relaxed styles,
especially if those same people dislike the rigid architectural quality of sellier bags.

also am totally mystified by the microscopic examination of leather surfaces to the point of rejecting a bag for
natural variation in a hide, like faint stretch marks lol, present even in a top graded one. When DH and I ordered
top grade hides from Loro Piana for a custom semi circular alcove banquette to be built, the sales associate
was very careful to say that we would be buying entire hides whose grain would not be stamped or corrected.
So, if we wanted a uniform pebbled surface, this option would not be suitable for us.

if someone would like a perfectly symmetrical textured finish, synthetic grain would be preferable.

ETa: another unpopular opinion
sometimes, especially if I am wearing premier branded RTW like H, I prefer a less well known,
less polished, but hand crafted bag. this summer I’ve been wearing bags made of straw reeds
from Heimat Atlantica (as usual, I’m a late adapter to a trend lol)

YES!

YES!!!

Unpopular opinion: the wide believe that Birkin and Kelly or other H bags are investments lead to the extra scrutiny of every flaw on the bag, IMO. They are expensive bags that are expected to have a certain quality standard but it’s unrealistic to ask for perfection from natural material.

not sure if this belongs here (mostly a reaction to the Paris and Hawaii shopping threads), but I am truly mystified by long distance sales “relationships” where a client will not see an SA for a year or more, yet it always seems that the SA remembers them and pulls special items for them because they have such a “close connection.” I guess I find it hard to believe that so many SAs indeed remember such infrequent visitors given they must serve hundreds of clients every month. Maybe I am just forgetful, but I can hardly remember the names of new people I met at a party the next day… to frame it as an unpopular opinion: It seems more likely that SAs like to/are told to make clients feel special, especially those who have an existing profile in that store. Either that or Hermes includes a memory test as part of their interview process and only selects the best of the best

Yes, agree with this. Hermes corporate makes the determination to deem a client VIP and fast tracks her prior to the appointment and irrespective of any spend. I have been told that a home boutique can also arrange for a one time FSH appointment for a favored local client. I dont believe that at FSH, even significant prespend can propel a client into VIP designation unless that client merits the VIP flag on her individual merits. From reading the Paris thread, it seems that long standing clients of the house, who also have strong potential for significant future spend, are also treated in a manner akin to VIP status. These individuals warrant special treatment even if their actual spend to date is minimal. Also, an SA for VIP services usually will not take on lottery appointments; or department specific walk-in sales, so their client roster is probably much lower.

Latest unpopular opinion:
I've recently after seeing a friends Older swift Kelly 35 decided that I LOVE swift.
Its lightweight, soft and silky and I love smooth leathers.
Due to the lightweight quality nature of Swift its perfect for larger sized bags.
SO WHY oh Why doesn't Hermes make larger bags in Swift anymore?
I know they no longer make Birkin 35 and above in swift and I daresay they no longer make Kelly 32 or 35 in it either (can anyone confirm about this?)
WHY???!!!!

Maybe because of the people who can't abide slouch in their bags and are constantly asking which leather holds structure? :D

A 32 or 35 is NOT a large bag. It’s a regular sized day bag useful for actually carrying stuff - as opposed to posing on sm.
This!!! I am such a fan of both sizes you list above because I use my bags to “carry” things! When I was doing a SO last month, my sa mentioned I should do a Kelly in a 25 bc they are very coveted - all I could think was that I couldn’t possibly haul all my day crap in it

Larger sizes are coming back… not sure what those solely chasing minis will do then. The tide always turns. One should have a variety of sizes depending on how much one needs to carry or for what occasion :)
(But when the trend was for 35B/32K, I still preferred 30B/28K lol)

Let our bank accounts recover. Or buy jewelry (which is what will probably happen for me).

They remember them because:

1. Appointment brings-up the client's name.
2. Under the name there is a purchase history.
3. Along with the purchase history, there's a list of SA's previous notes like, hates croc/loves orange/has children/collects things dog-themed...

They hardly make any 35 Bs and 32 Ks anymore period.

Every new bag I'm offered or in the display cabinet is tiny, Epsom, pink or a man's.
