What’s your unpopular Hermes opinion?

My unpopular opinion is that the Della Cavalleria looks a little bit like a bottom in a thong... I only thought of this when I saw it in Mauve and the thought cannot be shaken off my mind. Actually... I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion but I needed to let this opinion out instead of wondering if it's just me...?:eek:

Haha — I can’t I see this now!

This along with the “toilet seat cover” of some Chloe bags.

All this stuff is really expensive. So why the heck would someone buy something that they didn’t absolutely love, unless they were sure they would not return. My SA would rather I go back a few times to make sure something is perfect for me before purchasing rather than return, and so would I.

Once again, this. Perhaps naively, I’m sincerely at a loss as to why more people who don’t care for the ‘crap’ don’t follow this oft-suggested, sage advice. And ignore the advice in favor of throwing a tantrum and being rude at the boutique.

This may be more of an unpopular opinion but I’m not sure how to move it to that thread. Mods?
Isn’t H shopping interesting?

I can shine some light on this as I previously shared that I have a friend who purchased items only to get a bag offers:

1) Authenticity is probably the biggest one. You don't know for sure if the bag is authentic if you purchased it from a reseller.
2) Even though she might not absolutely love the items, she feels that it's better for her to spend $20k and get a bag + items that she likes enough than $18k to get a bag and nothing else
3) This one was unique to her situation - She had a SA who was very clear with purchase expectations so there wasn't any "guessing game"

sounds like you have a fantastic SA. 90% of them are not like yours.

I have a friend who shopped with a SA who told her point blank how much to spend and what items to buy to get her specs in a QB. The SA delivered on quite a few occasions, so my friend was happy with her service.

Since I know someone will ask - this was in the US  It’s not my cup of tea, but it was hers (quite literally since she picked up a teacup set at her SA’s request )

Reading through the Building Relationship thread, I think some folks wouldn’t mind this approach.
We are starting to have a good relationship with a local SA, but no QB offer yet. Not impatient yet, but tbh, to have a set target number to achieve would be quite helpful, even as we are buying (and enjoying) across metiers.

Been thinking about this since this 2017 Purseblog article with the linesitters pic outside Faubourg (below), before H switched to online appointments:

Back in those days, were you guaranteed a BKC if you camped out and got the first XX spots?

I think people don't go reseller because of the magic of buying from a H boutique... and also because all of us think we're above average in charm and luck to be able to get a QB without spending as much as those pitiful poor souls on TPF and elsewhere :P

^This. I have no evidence to base this on, so this is simply an idea on my part, but the spread of fake/dupe everything suggests being able to guarantee authenticity, even at the most trusted re-sellers, will become harder and harder. This and this (paywall) suggests more fakes will be in general circulation, and some of them may be very, very good dupes, so I can imagine more of these "superfakes" will be making their way to resellers in time. Whether they are good enough to pass a reseller or customer authencity test is another question.

Also, on a related note, my unpopular opinion: I'm not sure what to make of the luxury shopping situation when a reseller seemingly has more stock (both bags and other) than an official boutique. Is the boutique now just a fancy warehouse for resellers?

Yes that’s definitely true ,only a handful of people can get bags from stores .They are given out freely to resellers and influencers .

I feel like I’m alone in not getting the point of the Evelyn tpm? To me it’s just ridiculously small. But then I can’t wait for the end of the mini bag trend in general. I am not a doll
My Evelyn TPM is the only bag I own that I can wear into the Verizon Center in DC due to bag size restrictions. As a season ticket holder to the Capitols, I go there a lot. At least until Ovechkin beats Gretzky’s record (most goals scored).

At every game, I see a miffed man running to his parked car with his wife’s or girlfriend’s or daughter’s too large bag. The bag lockers fill up quickly.

The Evelyn fits my phone, keys, and Calvi.

The Evie TPM is the perfect game bag! I take it to football in Europe and to NBA when I am in the States.

My unpopular opinion #27,430,999 is that Jeff Bezos needs to make a Kindle that fits well in a TPM Evelyne.
