What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

I just received a Kooba Naomi in White perferated leather. The pictures are very cute, but disappointing in person. Very small, you'd have to stretch it to reach to advertised dimensions, UNLINED!!!, & the accents look like they are made of plastic. It went back to NM this morning.
That's the last time I buy a bag on line that I haven't seen in person first.

Most disappointing was a purse from eBags. The pictures showed a pretty python print framed purse. When it arrived, I was surprised how inferior the quality was, just PVC all over and even odder handles. It was alot smaller than I was expecting. Even though I didn't pay that much, I was surprised it was even sold through eBags. The whole thing was cheap looking.

Had a few original Coach that is made in USA :tup::tup: BUT when I got my very first "made in China" Coach bag... saw the labels at home... I returned it. Just disappointing that they would go from "proudly made in the USA", great history & everything to made in china for maximum profits... quit em like I quit Timberland.

EXACTLY my reaction when I got that first "MIC" Coach--I sold it to a friend who didn't much care, and she still loves it, but it broke my heart because I was a total Coach lover at the time. I desperately hate the direction that company's gone in--I lament the *REAL* Coach bags.

Off Topic......I shouldn't even admit how old this makes me, but I had a Coach bag before they were lined at all......I mean it was raw leather on the inside, and there were very very few styles to choose from. Mine actually looked reminicent of a saddle bag....right off the horse! I wore it to death, but those little tiny pieces of raw leather shavings got over everything in the bag, but it was still a great bag. Coach is very different today, and I know everything changes with time. I miss that bag and I guess I'm disappointed that they don't make them like they used to!

Very funny and informative thread.

My worst purchase was an LV Epi Alma. Loved the blue color but the bag was too stiff and the handles were too small. I never even wore it. I do miss that wonderful blue color though.

LV Speedy 25. How do people get into the dang thing and find what they need?????? I was cursing that bag till I sold it.

p.s. remembered another all-time bad bag: one of those "healthy back" bags from a mail order company. Ironically it made my back and shoulder hurt. Bought it for a trip and ended up buying a Vera Bradley tote to get me thru the week. At least VB was light and cheerful!

Exactly! I had several of those bags, probably before most members here were even born. Those bags NEVER wore out.

I love that bag!!!!! I don't think I'd be bothered by the weight.......
Just beautiful!!!!

My Gucci. It is too heavy. I think it wouldn't be as bad if it had a flat strap.

I had a Chloe Paddington that was in the house for less than 24 hours before I was at UPS returning it to Bergdorf's. When I paid extra for the insurance, he wondered what was in the box. A purse for HOW much? LOL!

Of those I kept, it has to be a Charlie Lapson. It was on sale, and I had a $50 coupon so it came out to about $50 total. It's a gorgeous bag but stiff and structured, and it's uncomfortable if you put it on the shoulder. It's very much a "hand"bag, and I hate handbag elbow.

All my bags from Coach 20 years ago are like that. They are very rugged, and all from water buffalo leather. The brass hardware were solid and heavy, not like the brass-plated stuff that's on bags these days. Times have changed and designs change... I still have trouble parting with a number of my vintage Coach bags because I know it is excellent workmanship and this kind of quality may not be duplicated with future Coach bags. I had what looked like a postal worker's bag and a duffel that looked like a horse feeding bag.

The most disappointing bag purchase I ever made was from ebay before I was on tpf... it was supposed to be a Chanel cambon tote and after I got it, it just felt 'off'. I started searching around the internet and found tpf and all the information about fakes/authentics! Turns out my hunch was correct and it was a fake; a very good fake, but a fake nonetheless. Luckily, the sellers were super sweet and they didn't realize it was fake (they bought it for a lot of $$$ at a consignment shop) and they let me return it for a full return! Then I joined tpf and my savings have been yelling at me ever since ;) though I have yet to have the desire to spend that serious amount of cash on a bag since then! Especially not on ebay; skeery! :wtf:
