What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

OMG where to start...
I have this awful habit of buying purses that I think are a good deal. If Coach or Cole Haan or Bloomingdales sends me a coupon, there's going to be a purse bought.
Most recently was my half price Furla Matilde - but this was karma coming to bite me on this one. I secretly ordered it, hiding the whole transaction from my hubby which has been eating me up, and it turns up and is not as I expected. Unf for me it's final sale so I'm stuck with it. I can't even sell it on Ebay without him finding out!
I also have a MbMJ Lovely Aline Satchel that I don't really love. Again half price, but it's not really my style.
And the Cole Haan Aerin Convertible Tote - 30% off but it's way too big!
Coach Signature Madeline - half price but there's something about it I just don't love!
Kate Spade Flatiron Thea - this I got for $75 in Nordstrom Rack. Lovely bag but it looks like every other fake Kate Spade out there.
HH Lorca in Saddle - bought it during one of the blowout sales last year. Again - nice bag but you can't take it anywhere it might get wet or a mark on it etc!
I always say I'm going to save up and wait for a purse I reallllllly want. Then another coupon pops up and I'm off again!

^^Love the drunk dialing BalNY post!!!

For me, I think it would be the Prada bag I bought. It was a basic leather and nylon bag. I think I always knew I didnt like the Prada nylon bags, but since this one had leather I thought maybe I would. I was looking for an all black bag that was pretty basic. I think I carried it twice and just didnt like it! Luckily I sold it for what I bought it for.

It will have to be my Marc Jacob Ivory Stam.
Being heavy is one thing which I'm willing to live with (yeah, I'm a sucker as long as it's a bag I like).

What was really disappointing is that the gold chain and hardware oxidise, to the extent that bits of black oxidised dust formed on the chain, the black dust drops onto the bag and stained the bag very very badly. Before and after each use, I have to take care to clean off any oxidisation, especially the chains. Some areas of the bag were already stained black.

Now whenever I admire a MJ bag with gold hardware - I put it back on the shelf and walk away.

I've put a pic here just for reference.
(Oops.... just realised, my signature's probably derived from this experience !!!)

MbMJ Dr. Q. Grovee in Portobello -- yes the Fall '08 one. This was supposed to be my anniversary present and it was terrible! After 3 weeks, a hole formed by the zipper, so since I loved this bag so much, I exchanged it for the same bag. This one had leather flaking off after 3 days. The SA at the other Bloomie's was trying to give me a hard time stating that since its soft leather, it supposed to happen. I told her that was fine but I wasn't satisfied! I got a Gcard for the amount and just got my new RM Steady Satchel today. I hope this bag isn't disappointing!

My Gucci Beltbag in Guccissima leather.
After about two weeks, I couldn't stand the look of it. I don't even know why I bought it (I think it may have been some underlying persuasion from the Sales Associate that I deal with at Holt's).
The good thing about it is that I ran it over with my car (not on purpose!) and it's still in working order. I would have returned it but, you know, tire-marks isn't really something you can pass-off as "I haven't used it yet!".

I've definitely bought some disappointments over the years, but my most recent one is the brand new and not yet officially released Coach Legacy Top Handle Pilot (12655P), $758, in amethyst.

NOTHING works about the bag except for the beautiful purple color (my photos are a bit dark)!! The leather is very thin and akin to "pleather", and although the bag is designed to be used as a top handle, there is NO structure or reinforcement to the bag body or top handle. Thus, the handle is merely "decorative" and mostly just in the way! Even with the shoulder strap, the bag buckles badly and it's not possible to use this bag without packing materials in it to help keep some of the structure and prevent buckling. It's awful!!

Not that I don't have and love some bags that lack structure, but this is the most uncomfortable and worst bag I've bought in a long time!! I only kept it because it was one of about 30 pilots released in that color, and the satchel style was not available as a pilot in this color (the only other option I wanted). However, I have to admit that many people I show the bag to actually like it and would love to buy it (go figure)!! I guess it's just not "me", so I'll probably ultimately sell it, even though I'm trying my best to learn to love it!! I definitely do love the color, and I like my matching wallet and wristlet quite a lot (they do have reinforcement).

Babyjlo:

I am exactly like you, my closet is full of bags that I don't really like but I bought them only because they were on sale. However, I still try to use everyone of them since I don't have the habit of re-selling them.

Me either - the thing is I use them all, I just don't love them. I know that if I sold any of them I would be miss them though!

I spent months looking for my perfect LV birthday gift and finally fell in love with the Trevi PM (that's the small size, mind you). Unfortunately, I felt like I was walking around with my luggage... and it took about 20 minutes of wear when I noticed my shoulder started to hurt. Also, the red lining failed a "bleed" test I did on it. I still think it's a gorgeous bag but it had to go back ... and now I am backing off of the HE end of things for a while.

My biggest disappointment was my MJ Blake satchel. I lusted after it and after my daughter was born I received it as a present from my husband along with a matching ZC. I use the ZC everyday but the Blake sat in my closet unused. It was too heavy with my gear in it and I didn't want to get a mark on the hardware, the suede lining, or the feet! For some reason I refused to take it out. Now my Blake has a new home and I hope she's getting used often.
