What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

I bought a Chloe Heloise tote in black and within a couple of uses, the handle snapped off. The store let me choose a replacement bag and I chose a different style Heloise in taupe. I was completely in love with the bag but noticed the handles again splitting within a week. I love the look but it will take a lot to get me to buy a Chloe again.

Same here!

I got a chloe heloise tote, I put a notebook in it and the handle was about to pop off. It was a shame, it was such a beautiful bag!

My bad bag experiences were: a Fendi Bbag, a Rebecca Minkoff MAM, and Chloe Heloise. Both Fendi and RM broke the moment I took them out of the box. The hardware just fell off.
The Chloe took a little longer, but the pieces of hardware started falling off one by one. Got my money back on all of them!

I had one a Dooney and Bourke zip tassle patent fuschia bag. I also had it in red. The fuschia started to discolor red!! I had to send it back to Dooney. I was upset, it was one of my favorite bags!

I am happy to report that none of my bags have ever broken right out of the package/store on me, but I would have to say that my most disappointing bag was a cream Kooba Sienna. I wore it for a few days when the whipstitching broke in one place...and then a stud fell off...and then some more of the whipstitching unraveled...and then...

You get the idea.

I sold it on consignment. No more Koobas for me.

My biggest mistake looking back was the LV multicolor speedy. I loved it at the time for like 2 years (I got it when it first came out) but it just got soooo dirty on the handles after constant use and it just wasn't easy to get my stuff in and out of it. I think it's too flashy for me now too with the bright logos all over the place. Now I'm more into solid leather bags, like I just got a black Chloe Paddington and pewter Marc Jacobs Stam and I really love both of them. I know they are on others' disappointing lists, so hopefully I won't have any trouble with either....

hmm. there have been so many. mostly cheaper pieces that fell apart like impulse target purchases. Vintage has generally been good to me but part of that is that I've usually lucked out with cheap pieces. The worst problem i've had with pricier bags is leather that fades oddly.

Right now I can't decide if i am disappointed by the gryson hannah in cranberry i just got. It was a special paid off the taxes big splurge for me even on super sale. on the one hand it looks nice but the straps are kind of stiffer than i was expecting and while there's nothing wrong with it the stitching doesn't look quite as fine as i was expecting for a bag that would retail for $600+. The shoulder straps are technically removable but it took round nose pliers and a lot of force to undo the collar studs - neither me nor my husband could get them to budge otherwise. I even double checked the website to make sure they were supposed to be removable. The leather straps are also a much different texture than the rest of the bag, flat and stiffer.

i'm wondering also if the suede lining will work out as it seems to hang oddly. since the lining is only attached around the zipper on the side with the larger pockets it hangs straight down from the zipper which is a couple of inches off the side of the bag. It almost seems like it should have been tacked in the upper corners. I don't have any lined bags that aren't more structured so I'm not sure if it's common with softer bags. It may work out better when full of stuff.

I'm filling it up to take out tomorrow so we shall see. I guess the rule for me shoudl be to visit in person before buying online.

I would have to say my coach optic chelsea, was just to annoying to close and open. My coach signature carly, was too heavy and just too big. Louis vuitton Noe, constantly slipped off my shoulder.. what a pita!

Gucci snakeskin hobo with bamboo handles.

The inside leather and the snakeskin separated.
The bambbo handles chipped off soon after

This is why I just stick to Gucci classics or monograms which are long lasting and sturdier.

I don't usually get disappointed with my bag choices, mostly because when I buy them, I ask everyone's opinion before I commit.

That said, I was rather disappointed by my new Goldenbleu Petrol leather Tiffany clutch. If it wasn't for the great price, I probably would be even more annoyed. The clutch consists of leather panels and each one is dyed differently apparently. On one side, one panel is quite a bit lighter than all the other panels but it doesn't look intentionally (because it really wasn't). Unfortunately, because it was on major sale, it was a final sale item. GB says that the petrol is supposed to be inconsistent because of the dying process. I'll still use it and I'm not planning on selling it, but I would've be soo much happier if the panels blended better together.

A Cole Haan village bucket in fuchsia and olive- it was sooo pretty but when it was full of stuff I couldn't get anything out of it while I was wearing it. The way the straps weave through the top naturally cinch it shut. I had to take the bag off and put it on a flat surface to get into it- VERY annoying.
