What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

LV cherry blossom papillon. It's more of a work of art than a functional bag. The shape is just awkward to carry.

LV white multicolor speedy. It's a colorful & cheerful bag but it's heavy even when empty, big like a carryall instead of a purse, & the metal lock made loud clickety clack sounds.

My Coach gallery tote. It was a pain in the arse to carry and not to mention quickly trying to access and close the bag in a hurry is a pain. Also, because it was a rectangle type shape, I was always bumping into stuff or knocking things over. I was really happy to get rid of it.

My Chanel Cambon Tote. I thought it was lovely until every teenager in the mall started sporting a fake one. It wasn't necessarily the fact that everyone assumed mine was fake too, it was more about the fact that I felt too "old" for it (I was in my thirties).
I also purchased a Chanel Vintage Ligne Tote, but realized later that the chunky straps would always slide off my shoulder.

About 10 years ago I bought a Chanel tote on eBay from Hong Kong. When it arrived, it smelled so bad that I could smell it before I even opened the package. The seller refused to do anything about it and despite my trying everything, that smell really never went away. Put me off of Chanel and Hong Kong bags up until recently!

I'm very pickie and don't have many bags. Therefore haven't had a disappointed bag yet. But one thing for sure, I don't buy a LV because to many have them and lots of them are fake.

A few years ago I bought a small Burberry flap bag - my first designer bag. Within weeks the problems started. The shoulder strap and strap over the flap started splitting, some coating started peeling off the buckle, the trim around the flap turned reddish (from chocolate brown) and the pockets inside started coming undone. Now I won't carrt it because it looks so bad, but I don't know if it's worth paying to have it fixed when it'll probably be the same poor quality it was originally made with.

Definitely the Faria Flap from The Sak. I have another of their bags, and the leather is really soft. The Faria Flap however didn't even feel like real leather! It's really functional though, and it wasn't nearly as expensive as some of the disappointments you girls bought so I count myself pretty lucky!

I have a lot of regrets, but the ones that come to mind are:

YSL - medium patent muse. It was so heavy! I'm not sure if it was the patent, hardware, or both that created the weight.

LV Trouville - too heavy with the inner lining + extra pockets

LV white multicolor speedy - bought it in 2007 which is way past its "it bag" period. Every time I looked at it I couldn't help but think "Jessica Simpson circa 2003"

I'm sure there are more but I don't want to get depressed thinking about it!

Mine definitely has to be the MBMJ hillier hobo. My first and last MBMJ purchase. Ever. The colour rubbed off, showing the un-dyed leather, and the gold plating on the logo also came off, so now the ugly metal underneath is showing. Extremely disappointed with the quality of MBMJ.

Botkier Isla satchel in off-white, snake embossed leather. I paid $700 for a stiff bag which was awkward in size and shape. I couldn't think of one scenario where the bag would work - not work, or weekends, or going out at night. It was like a large envelope. Looked awkward on the arm and with the long strap. I thought the model shots were just off but nope, it really looked awkward in person too. Very "high fashion" - not practical at all.

Sadly, it's the LV Neverfull bag for me. I thought it would be the perfect tote for me but unless I have on a thick shirt, I can't carry the bag comfortably. :(

eta: I should mention that I live in a hot and humid climate so a thick shirt wouldn't work.

Why? Does the strap dig in? I've never bought LV because it' so popular but I've always thought the Neverfull would be the one I would get if I did because it's so light weight and durable. That's unfortunate if the strap digs in though...
