What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

I accidentally came across this post while searching "McQueen" ...
I think, the simple explanation to Mulberry being unlined is that their bags
are the only bags on the market produced in full-hide leather, full thickness, not a split. All the other designers use the upper layer of the leather only, the lower one is split to use for something else (cheaper items, etc in the industry). By unlining the bag you show off the highest quality leather, as only the best hide can be used unprocessed. Mulberry also do cheaper leathers, and such bags are always lined.
It is the same that in the most expensive fur coats the lining is never sewn on at the bottom hem, so you can inspect the quality of the skin which holds the fur. Demanding lining sounds the same as demanding those coats to have attached lining...
It is a sign of luxury leather, not a cheapo. Unfortunately, Mulberry are moving away from that luxury in the direction of cheaper leathers, lined bags, to satisfy opinions of people who do not know...And also full hide is far more expensive than a normal leather... It is like "why on earth this Bentley has wooden dashboard... how old-fashioned... it should be plastic".
I do not work for Mulberry and am unbiased, but have and know their bags. My favourite ones are unlined, with thickness of leather 2 mm, bag holding the lovely leather smell for years. Such bag is a bentley of leather craft, and does not need lining - you just just the suede eraser if you need to clean it - the bag will last 100 years. not 5 as other brands.

This is also what I understood from the Mulberry SA. I was initially turned off by the non existence of the lining of my Roxanne. The SA even took the trouble to explain to me that Mulberry wanted to display the true beauty and quality of their leather hence the 'no lining' policy for their higher end bags at that time. Most French brands of leather heritage also stick to this principle. I have not been buying Mulberry bags for a long time and don't know about their quality nowadays.

^You can see why it turns people off, though. You open the bag and there appears to be no lining. To me, the lining even looks nicer. Each to his own. I have another good handbag (Texier) which is also unlined, but I never considered why.

It isn't the most disappointing by a long shot, but the Alexander Wang Baby Rocco wasn't what I was expecting. I might still end up keeping it but I was really under the impression from the Gilt photos that it was on the ivory side, and I was looking forward to a bag in that colour. Pretty though it is, it's not even close to the colour I wanted.

The Badgley Mischka Tundra Turnlock flap shoulder bag. It looked adorable online, but when I got it, I realized half of the long strap was gold chain. I hated it and returned it the same day I picked it up.

MBMJ Petal to the Metal Sasha. I loved it, wanted it for months and months before I bought it, but within a month of careful use the leather was very worn on the back and blue from jeans.

My Louis Vuitton Monogram Speedy 30. I found it uncomfortable to use and I would see the exact same bag on somebody else every hour.
I sold it after carrying it 4-5 times. I couldn't stand it!
