Belen Echandia TME midi - great style, but I was disappointed by the quality of the leather. I had it for a while and then sold it. Will stick with Mulberry from now on!

ITA re Belen Echandia's quality (and styles). That was one of the lines I was disappointed with myself.

I'm with you in staying with tried and true favorites. That's exactly what I"ve been doing.

Someday I need to take a closer look at Mulberry. Good Point! lol

Others have posted but it's worth repeating - Foley + Corinna Mid City Tote.

I liked the concept and it looked good in photos, so I ordered one from Luna Boston (great customer service, by the way!!). I hated it immediately. The lining was cheap, even for the pricepoint. The zippers were rough (did not open and close easily). The hardware was garrish. The leather, although I am positive it was genuine, felt fake - like it had been overtreated.

I was so disappointed by that bag that I stopped looking at F+C dresses as well!!

About four years ago I was totally in love with the LV mono papillon 30. So I got one. Its shape is awkward and the zip on mine scratches me when I get my hand in and out. I have used it maybe a dozen times when I needed to use a smaller bag. The resale value on a papillon is very poor so I will just hold on to it.

for me it was a COACH denim Zoe bag...at first i hated it. I dont like how it looked. Then i saw it in person and had to have it. Used it for less than a week and took it back. It was a disappointing b/c it wasnt for me.

A RM black basketweave morning after bag (BBW MAB), I got it on a special order and carried it for 3 hours. The leather tore on both sides of the bag. What the heck?!

Ok, that's just ridiculous--a special order should come out PERFECTLY. I'm so sorry--the BBW bags are so gorgeous--that must have been an huge disappointment.

It was very disappointing TejasMama. I think it was the final straw for me with RM!

You know, I go back and forth with RM but this is it! I am only keeping the few that I LOVE (for now) but am doing a big RM purge. It's very sad but this is not the first RM that had issues within a very short amount of time. For what we pay for them, I would expect them to last quite a while but that is not the case.

my black marc jacobs blake. one of the clasps on the front broke and i have yet to have it repaired. i am hesitant to send it off, dont know the procedure. *sigh* gorgeous bag, sitting in my closet.

I know what you mean about RM. I recently sold all my RMs (I only had a couple Nikkis and a mini-b) and am now down to my BBW MAMM (which has held up really well, I'm happy to say). I am still tempted by RM from time to time but it's really hard when the CS is so bad and it doesn't seem like anyone there really cares about making it any better. Customer loyalty doesn't seem to mean much, and that really stinks.

I LOVE my Alexander Wang Brenda I'm not disappointed with it but it does annoy me sometimes, I didn't know how easily the chain straps get tangled (literally every time you put it down) and since the zippers go really far down the sides of the bag you have to make sure it's completely closed or things spill out. I still love it but it's not a bag you can be careless with

Any coach bag I have ever bought has disappointed me. I have worn them maybe like twice and then I usually just toss them aside or give them to family members. They just don't do anything for me for the price (300-400? I rather double that and buy an LV..)

Kooba Laine from 2008 or 2009. Hate it! Hate everything about it, the way it closes, the way it hangs, the size... i bought it sight unseen online and should have returned it for a credit, even if the credit sat there for a year.

I don't like unlined Mulberry's either. There is a store near me that sells them. I'm attracted enough by the design to pick them up and look inside. But they go straight back down again when I see the 'lining'. How cheap of Mulberry.

I accidentally came across this post while searching "McQueen" ...
I think, the simple explanation to Mulberry being unlined is that their bags
are the only bags on the market produced in full-hide leather, full thickness, not a split. All the other designers use the upper layer of the leather only, the lower one is split to use for something else (cheaper items, etc in the industry). By unlining the bag you show off the highest quality leather, as only the best hide can be used unprocessed. Mulberry also do cheaper leathers, and such bags are always lined.
It is the same that in the most expensive fur coats the lining is never sewn on at the bottom hem, so you can inspect the quality of the skin which holds the fur. Demanding lining sounds the same as demanding those coats to have attached lining...
It is a sign of luxury leather, not a cheapo. Unfortunately, Mulberry are moving away from that luxury in the direction of cheaper leathers, lined bags, to satisfy opinions of people who do not know...And also full hide is far more expensive than a normal leather... It is like "why on earth this Bentley has wooden dashboard... how old-fashioned... it should be plastic".
I do not work for Mulberry and am unbiased, but have and know their bags. My favourite ones are unlined, with thickness of leather 2 mm, bag holding the lovely leather smell for years. Such bag is a bentley of leather craft, and does not need lining - you just just the suede eraser if you need to clean it - the bag will last 100 years. not 5 as other brands.

^ wow i didn't know that thanks for sharing! i love the darwin bayswater and has always been puzzle by the unlined interior since obviously it doesn't cost much to line a bag. now i'm tempted to hunt down one lol.
