What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

Two Belen Echandia bags. One was a Hug Me in Pink Wax...LOVED the color so much but hated the Hug Me style and the leather on that bag was very delicate, almost melted off. I was able to return it because it was not a BE Couture but was still given a hard time. Lost about $80 with shipping to UK both ways. Tried BE again with a Love Me Mini in Chocolate Crash. Again, stunning bag, but sooo heavy! This was a BEC so I could not return. I sold it brand new at a significant loss. It was so pretty though it was painful to part with. They have some pretty bags, but so difficult to buy site unseen, and be able to feel the bags. And they have a very stringent return policy especially considering you cannnot buy the bags in stores to see them IRL. Not sure I will buy another BE.

And a Cole Haan Village Pailette satchel (see attached pic) in a color called Tiger's Eye. It was $400 I believe new and at the time seemed like a fortune to me....but I lusted over this bag weekly in Belks. Bought in on ebay NWT for about $250. I think the bag was authentic but the color did not seem quite the same as in the store. Also the flap drove me crazy, my bags have to be top zip

Last but not least 2 LV Black MC Trouvilles. Bought one on ebay that had a strong perfume smell was able to return to reputable seller. Too bad because the bag was pristine otherwise. Then another on ebay but the handles were filthy! Had to go thru Resolutions Center as seller refused to take back. Guess I am not meant to have this bag!

i've never been disappointed by any bag i've purchased, i don't know why, maybe because i research them to death before buying anything. i have been disappointed with bags i've seen in person after seeing them online, mostly LVs, YSL, kooba, chloe, fendi.
I totally admire that. I tend to buy impulsively and regret fairly often.

Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Minis. I bought three within a four month period and honestly, I think I just got caught up in the hype. I can't say why my opinion turned but it didn't take too log to return and sell them.

I have a little mulberry bag which annoys me because it is not lined. It says "lined in suede" but to me they're just too cheap to line the leather with some fabric. Even my cheapo PVC bags are lined. I got it at a reduced price but I still feel stupid for buying it when I look at the inside.

I've bought disappointing bags, but I don't own any of them. They go right back to the store if I'm not completely in love with them.

Luckily this doesn't happen too often. I mull over potential purchases for months (literally!) before taking the plunge...although this also means I somtimes miss fabulous sales. Oh well. You win some, you lose some.

Same here! I debate the pros and cons of every bag for quite some time. I want to be sure I'm going to get good, long-term use out of it before I buy it. This leads to some missed opportunities, but it also enables me to buy guilt-free. I also feel that I can spend more n my bags than I normally would, because each one is such a careful purchase. I currently own 5 and that feels like more than enough.

That's so strange, especially Mulberry is a higher-end brand.

LV Trevi pm - the straps bruised my arms and the zipper scratched my hand everytime I got in or out of it.

Yup! The reason why I didn't bring it home with me a few months back. I was all ready to hand the SA my CC but decided to put my wallet into it one last time. So glad I did as it was really one last time.

Most recent mistake was the RM MAB in honey tan colour last week. Saw it at the store & thought that it would make a great travel bag. Brought it home, load it up with my travel essentials, went back to return 2 hrs later. It was just too heavy even with the shoulder strap.

An Alexander McQueen bag - the handles started to come away after about a week of babying and being treated like royalty. It was returned and replaced but then I found a split in the leather in the body of the bag almost immediately. It was returned and refunded. It was a real shame as I really loved the bag itself but it put me clean off.

Furla Yvonne dome satchel. It's beautiful but just too big for me to use as a handbag. I do use it as a carry-on bag though!

LV monogram papillon. Doesn't hold enough, awkward to get into, why why why.... (Answer: on sale in a consignment store.)

I don't like unlined Mulberry's either. There is a store near me that sells them. I'm attracted enough by the design to pick them up and look inside. But they go straight back down again when I see the 'lining'. How cheap of Mulberry.

I would probably own more than one by now if they lined them. ;P Frankly to me they look unfinished.

Correction: that was a Furla YOLANDE dome satchel. Yvonne, Yolande, whatever. Still too big.

But my MOST regrettable bag was such a disappointment I totally forgot to mention it: a Fendi Magic Bag. I adore the way it looks, but it is a P.I.T.A. to use. You have to unlock and flip up the flap, then hold the bag in one hand while you rummage around in the "magic" bottomless pit (which is impossible to actually look into!) And since there is no structure to the compartment, you still have to support it when you set it down because it just collapses and falls over. And everything inside ends up in a big clump anyway.

I feel bad because it's still in my closet, and every once in a while I take it out and look at it, and wish it worked better for me. Then it goes back into the sleeper for another 6 months.

A Treesje Dylan Hobo in Black with Gold Hardware. What was I thinking? It is too big for me and I'm not really a studs girl and I'm not wild about black and gold together. It is such a pity as the leather is lovely and I really like the style. I could probably have stuck with it if I had got the version that comes with anthracite hardwear.
