What's the most disappointing bag you've ever bought?

gucci messanger bag, was out in brazil with friends,
there was a little lagoon, we swam (i did in jeans)
after being done went back home with my messanger across
took it off and the backside was blue :(

Surely this wasn't the bag's fault but your wet jeans no? :confused1:

My most disappointing bag NON-purchase was the MJ stam. After lusting after it for a month and a bit after seeing it being worn by a friend, I finally had a chance to lay my paws on the real deal at the bloomingdales sale last year. One touch confirmed that I wouldn't get it, the black quilted leather felt so lacking in a 1k+ bag and not supple. Trying it on my arm was even worse, it was so heavy! I'm glad I got over that bag-crush in a hurry even though it was my first bag-crush :p

^babybel, when did you try it on? I went to a department store and found myself in the same situation, except I remember a few months earlier when I went the leather seemed, well, more luxurious :wtf: I don't know whether it's my memory that's playing a trick on me or what, or has the leather quality gone down?! I have no idea and really have no way of knowing which way it is... :shrugs:

I think this was in November? This was before the crazy Saks sale (I love how I date things according to the Saks sale :roflmfao:). I think it was my crush on the bag that elevated my expectations of it. Somehow I expected silky soft supple leather a la chanel calf (I know, keep dreaming) and got a more papery stiff feel instead? I don't know how to explain it.

I also had the chance late December last year to play around with the new white/cream stam with the gold trim and hardware and it was the same disappointing papery non leather feel. It was as though it needed a good lathering of moisturizing cream if you know what I mean?

Yeah, I know, it almost felt a little...plastic-ky (begging forgiveness from all stam lovers). I don't know though, when I tried it in April last year the leather seemed to give less of that feeling. Maybe it wasn't treated well/long enough?

Botkier trigger in platinum. I bought it for £400 and I got sick of it quickly, so after only using it twice, ended up trying to sell it on ebay which I got a total of £5 for! Waste of money...

LV Speedy 30(please don't shoot me either..:flowers:)...it wasn't love.

Exact same for me. I like the look, but it felt cheap and the inside disappointed me.

Also, pretty much every handheld bag I have ever purchased.

Annnd all of the money/time i've spent on different wallets. I am so picky about them and have owned so many. I think my biggest disappointment was my Coach Hamptons Turnlock wallet. It's gorgeous and fits a ton of stuff but it is SO HEAVY I can't even stand to use it.

i've never been disappointed by any bag i've purchased, i don't know why, maybe because i research them to death before buying anything. i have been disappointed with bags i've seen in person after seeing them online, mostly LVs, YSL, kooba, chloe, fendi.

I hate to say it, but my Mulberry Alexa. I wanted this bag sooo much, and I even made myself wait a full month before ordering in case I fell out of love. I still drool when I see pics of others wearing it, but somehow wearing it messenger style makes me feel like a dude.. lol. Maybe I should wear it with more "girly" clothes for a nice contrast? I doubled up the strap so I am going to try wearing it that way for a while.

To be honest way back in my younger late teen days (hahaha) I purchased a small black Kate Spade backpack with a matching wallet. The wallet was felt like cardboard.

i tried Ignes- wanted to be bold with salmon and leather- it was flaking off inside the box! Then I had to wait a month after they received the bag for my refund. They have hence changed the refund policy.

Burberry Manor Tote. I'm not a big Burberry fan anyway, and the only reason I bought this bag was because it was majorly marked down. So I got it just to fulfill my handbag craving for the month. I found it awkward to carry and it weighed like 20 lbs (or at least it felt that way). So I sold it to Avelle last week and I don't miss it at all!

A black box Kelly from Hermes, which I had sought for so long. But when I got it (from an on line consignment shop) I did not like the boxiness and stiffness. It banged against everything and jarred my nerves.
This bag is an HG for many so I could not believe I wasn't loving it- I tried and tried but it never felt good when I carried it.
Finally I put it up for sale and it was snapped up, thank goodness.
