Told my husband if he'd buy me the bag I wanted (LV Speedy) it would count for the whole year's worth of gift giving occasions (birthday, anniversary, Christmas and Valentine's Day)! Not a huge sacrifice since I usually have trouble deciding what to ask for any way.

I would never go into debt or scrimp on food or other essentials to get a bag though, so maybe I'm a dinosaur too!

I wish I would have thought about this last month. I could bargain with my husband. Our wedding anniversary and my birthday is in December

For me other than save, I did lots of research and thank god for tpf.

I guess I'm doing it now - I'm saving for my HG bag so I've banned myself from random shopping for the next couple months or so - meaning I'm not allowed to go to TJ Maxx and buy 8 random shirts that I don't need, no matter how cheap they are! Seriously, that kind of stuff adds up!

I'm also using the idea of getting this bag as motivation to further my career in various ways. It might just be the best motivation ever.

Also, this sounds crazy, but I'm obsessed with saving spare change. I empty my wallet of change every night and put it into a jar. Not only does it add up quickly, but it keeps me from buy coin purses and SLGs to put change in, since I never carry any around!
