What's the craziest thing you've done to be able to afford the bag you wanted?

Have to say, I go to my local ramen shop once a week lol. Fresh ramen is amazing.

That said I've never done anything crazy to afford a bag, but I do get neurotic about getting the absolute best deal. Hours of comparison shopping, researching coupons, rebate sites, etc. all in the name of saving a few bucks.

+2...couldn't agree more!!

Also, if I see a bag I want but can't afford it at that moment, then I will either have to wait awhile and save for it or I just won't get it. I've never done nor do I think I would do anything crazy to afford a bag.

Recently not anything crazy, but when I was 15 I bought my first Speedy with my confirmation and graduation money that was supposed to go in the bank...my mother was very unpleased, to say the least, but at least I got my money's worth!
I still use her to this day, and that was almost 10 years ago.:laugh::love:

P.S. At that time, the Speedy 30 mono was only $800 CAN on the dot with tax. The good old days :graucho:

Not for bags but I sold a lot of gold and took 600 out of savings for the Cartier love bangle. And when I mean a lot of gold... At least the gold prices were at least 1400 an oz. lol at the time. I also had my friend while she was on vacation get me a contact from a duty free Cartier store and had them ship it over to save some $$$ but the insurance cost 500. So could have saved more if I bought the bracelet back when I was vacationing there.

I've never done anything crazy to buy a bag but I did buy a LV Multicolor Alma in noir because I was having a medical procedure done. I guess the possibly crazy part is that when I woke up from being knocked out I promptly asked for my LV and had it in bed with me in the recovery room, all the nurses loved it lol.

I guess one other crazy thing is I can debate on whether or not to get a single bag for many months. I do research, look at photos ect. Right now I have been considering a bag for like three months and I'm not any closer to a decision. Also once I owned the same bag three times; I bought it, sold it, bought it, sold it and bought it and sold it. Will l buy it again? I have no clue!
The Alma story is not crazy at all. Knowing that my new LV was waiting for me at home helped me get through childbirth LOL

This isn't too crazy, but I am currently on a shopping ban while I save up for my dream bag. I haven't purchased any luxury items lately, except for two Guerlain makeup items and a few Versace scarves on clearance at Off Fifth.

Nothing really crazy I guess... but I did make like 6 trips to Venice over one summer mostly to decide which perfect Miu miu bag to get (and to browse some other brands, too) :D I'm very picky and a slow decider :smile1: And then I made a trip to Milan just to check whether my new Chanel wallet from Paris was perfect or I should exchange it for some other model, which is like a 5 hour drive in one direction :D But it was fun
