I impulse bought a black canvas Gucci backpack. I did manage to use it daily for 3 or 4 years during university, but it's been hibernating in its dustbag since graduation - 6 YEARS!
I've thought about selling it but what if I change my mind? Maybe I just need to whip it out and wear it around town

I bought an orange Kipling purse about five years ago and I use it, but not daily. Tastes change, especially since I was 14 years old when I bought the purse. It's still cute, but not something I would use anymore unless I was desperate. Sad, I know.

Clearly I was wrong! I used the Kipling two weeks ago as a throw around bag at Six Flags!

My most recent bag purchase I regret was in 2012 when I bought myself a LV Damier Speedy 35. I always knew I wasn't a hand-held purse gal but I bought one because I noticed many people called it a "classic" and a "must have". It was a great quality purse, but I only had to wear it once to realize that it didn't fit my lifestyle at all, so I finally sold it this year and actually broke even. Didn't lose or gain anything.

Has anyone finally jumped into purchasing a high-end luxury bag and well.... just felt disappointed. I recently purchased (full price) a black Balenciaga City in regular hardware and I just returned it to NM. I felt incredibly sick to my stomach knowing I was walking around with a $2,000 handbag that had shiny leather that I just couldn't get used to.

Every time I looked at the bag, I just felt ridiculous thinking how much it cost. It used to be my holy grail bag... but I guess I am truly too frugal to own something that expensive that doesn't require a drivers license and a tank of gas...

Back it went...

Same here :( what ur colour? Mine was dark red...do u think its a gud idea to sell it
Mine is in the walnut brown colour- she is still plenty gorgeous in my eyes, just that I feel so uncomfortable using her.
You can try selling. I did myself at one point, but didnt get any good offers at all, and so, kept her!
I try to use her a bit more frequently now, to 'safe' places, like to the office and to nice brunches with my girlfriends, etc. No going through those airport security scanners for this one....

Pretty much all of my "such a great deal"/ impulse/consignment purchases. I wouldn't have looked twice at the bag if it was full price, but when it's 70% off? Why not? Then I regret it. I have multiple bags I've bought this way and they either sit with the tags on or I have to sell them because I can't return them. I'm learning to invest in good quality and not be tempted by "a good deal," but it's hard.
+1. I've started selling all of my impulse/consignment/sale "deals" that I realized I didn't really love. I'd rather just buy one investment bag that I LOVE every few months vs. a few bags that I just like because they were a good deal.

Mine is the exact same, I bought the DE Speedy 35 in late 2012. It was beautiful but I quickly realized that I need a shoulder or crossbody option, I found it was a hassle to go without. I also went with the 35 because I'm 5'11", but I don't carry that much stuff, nor do I need to start carrying that much, so it never looked quite "right" with only a few things in there. I sold it after carrying it maybe 20 times. I may eventually get a Speedy B 30 but we'll see, the price increases are making me hesitate.

I recently regret a purse I am going to return today. A rebecca minkoff medium MAB in black cherry. I actually love the bag- it's beautiful! But it does not fit my current lifestyle and just sits on the shelf. I feel guilty for letting my money sit on the shelf like that. And I know I am going to miss looking at the bag. I hope I don't regret returning her, especially when I got her for such a great deal. I just wish I never bought the bag so I wouldn't have to make this decision now.

I cleaned out my closet recently and found my "used to like it to death" Miu Miu Bow handbag sitting lonely at the corner. I really like the style of it. However, the quality of this handbag is just unacceptable for the price I paid for. The edges were peeling off and there's cracks everywhere within a month of using. I'm so afraid this handbag will fall apart one day so I stopped using it. I really regret of buying this bag. This was my first designer handbag I invested money into when I got my real job after graduation. I now avoid brands like Miu Miu and Prada. What a failure.

I think you're making the right decision to return it. Bags are for using so if you're not going to be able to use it the way you need to, you might as well return it and get something that you will both love and get use out of!

Rebecca Minkoff Bailey Hobo. Physically, it's beautiful, roomy and comfortable on the shoulder. But the leather felt cheap, plasticky, and it smelled like Pleather. Not to mention I paid $200 expecting a genuine leather bag. I was so disappointed.
