"What was I thinking?" Bag purchases you regret...

Pretty much all of my "such a great deal"/ impulse/consignment purchases. I wouldn't have looked twice at the bag if it was full price, but when it's 70% off? Why not? Then I regret it. I have multiple bags I've bought this way and they either sit with the tags on or I have to sell them because I can't return them. I'm learning to invest in good quality and not be tempted by "a good deal," but it's hard.

I bought a Jimmy Choo Sophia satchel (brown lambskin) on Rue La La, thinking it would be a lightweight, practical, everyday bag. In reality it was a magnet for stains-- even raindrops would leave marks! I also bought it for the shoulder strap, but the slouchy shape looked unflattering when worn with the strap. I ended up consigning it locally at a loss.

Also regret a Coach white patent leather card case. Color transfer galore.

oh, I should not post in this thread - I burnt more money this way than I care to think about....

Hermes Bolide in small size (just too lady..)
Hermes Picotin TGM (lol, I so wanted the colour but what a mistake the bag itself was)
any handheld, when will I ever learn that I cannot do handheld...
any Celine bag - too many quality issues for me..

and too many brands that just don't suit my style but in the process I have narrowed it down to stuff that I actually like :). plus I try to only buy from shops that I can return to.

The Bolide is a great bag. I am not into ladylike bags myself but I have seen lots of young ladies carry one and they wear it beautifully.
As for the Picotin, I think the PM is very very cute. I don't like the TGM either .

oh, I have no doubt the Bolide is a great bag - just not for me :smile1:. maybe the large size in a soft leather but I don't want to try and then lose ;)

My Hermes Birkin. I have a toddler and I'm a pediatrician, so I definitely don't have a need for heavy handheld bags.
I carried it only once just to figure out that I just don't have a Hermes lifestyle.

I gave the Birkin to my mum who is really happy with it.

The Birkin is a great bag but very heavy too, unfortunately!
Your Mum got a very beautiful present!:smile1:

I have mixed feelings about my YSL Muse Two. Part of me likes it and part of me wishes I hadn't bought it because it's too complicated to open and close.

Same here! I have used mine like once, and was fine with that experience, but the opening/closing bit has definitely blocked my YSL Muse Two from being an everyday bag for me :(

I would say my Christian dior Linertine :nono::nono:

i spent around $2k :(

too soft and not very practical and even doesn't scream dior :(

i shouldnt have

Me too! My Libertine is safely in her pretty white Dior box. It's a good size for me (work, travel) but the lambskin is real delicate and when the folds on the bag are not straight and pretty, the bag looks like a puddle of leather (not in a great way at times). Such an expensive bag....sigh......tough I love stroking her, leather is unbelievably buttery......
