"What was I thinking?" Bag purchases you regret...

So, I have quite a list. Choo Ramona, Dior sadle, LV too many to name, most have gone to friends, a birkin that I sold...at a loss. A chanel bronze flap, can't think of the name, hogan fringe. And every balanciagia bag I've ever bought.

So many! One that comes to mind was an Hermes Trim, the flat style. I wanted to love this bag so much, but I could not fit my stuff in it and it actually made me angry to carry it. Thank goodness it was sold to a good home.

Givenchy black satchel from jomashop. I bought it for the price, which i NEVER do, i just got caught up in the deal. the leather is gorgeous, but it's heavy and i don't use it. i plan to sell it if i ever get my act together.

Alexander Wang brenda moto bag. It was a beautiful bag but a pain in the butt to use. The chain straps were always getting tangled and the bag was so slouchy, unstructured and small that as soon as I zipped open the bag the contents would just fall out! I lost a pair of raybans in the back of a cab that way and almost lost my phone a couple times. I sold it 2 weeks ago for exactly what I paid for it last year thanks to his price increase. I don't miss that bag one bit!

I agree with the poster that said there are really no bad purchases because it lets you form opinions about what you like and don't like in a bag and it somehow shapes your handbag preference. I don't regret any of my bag purchases because I don't impulse buy. I plot and plan my purchases according to function but the look of a bag has to grab me right away. If I don't love a bag at first sight, I am very unlikely to be talked into it. I do regret some of my small signature coach purchases only because I feel like signature is on it's way out due to the economy but the peices that I have have resale value so may enable me to buy a bag that I really want. Great Thread !!!

None, because I agonize for months over every purchase. I always wait for sales too. My collection is very small but i LOVE every bag.
The only thing I impulse buy is dresses for some reason-I have way too many.

OMG! I spent $1295 + tax on a Balenciaga Work bag. Whenever I was at the store...I absolutely loved it...whenever I came home (6 hour trip home) I took it out, looked at it, wore it around the house, put it back in its dustbag, and it basically has sat in my closet ever since. LOL. this is were my SO would say "i told you not to buy that". hahaha.

That I bought more than one Fendi Spy.

The market (and interest init) for resale seems to have bottomed out. So there they sit in my closet. Though I haven't been to the Fendi subforum lately, so maybe I'm wrong.

I am thinking about giving one to one of my best friends who lost her job in December, has had no interviews from resumes sent out, and really is feeling low. Maybe I can cheer her up a little.

thats very sweet of you!!

i disagree the fendi spy is classic, havent seen one like the ones i have in a while and price has gone up

I don't really regret anything. But I do wish that I could start all over again knowing what I know now....after all this time on TPF. Even though I do love all of my bags, I imagine my collection would be different if I were starting it now...

Electric blue SGH Balenciaga city. It was my first secondhand bag and I just couldn't bond with it; it felt like I was borrowing someone else's bag. And the colour went with absolutely nothing in my wardrobe.
