Thank you all for your advice :smile1:!
I'm pretty much set on just the solitaire pendant now. I'm thinking around .25 so around $2000 and putting the other half of the budget aside for a future purchase (as several of you have suggested, a watch would be nice before the key - and I do like the BB:love:). I guess I will know when I try them on, maybe I'll prefer a bit smaller or a bit bigger, and in the case of wanting bigger I will still have the funds ready and it'll just take a bit longer for the watch :smile1:. For now I'm pretty content with the idea of a single piece and it being a diamond solitaire in a little blue box:presents

I'm with you on the key hon!! Funny how we've been lusting after the same one... :) I'm in my early 30s, working full time and already own a beautiful solitaire pendant from DH for my birthday. I've been keen on the mini oval key since I first saw it in Hong Kong a year ago, wow-we does it sparkle!
I would say go as big as you can afford on a solitaire given age and just starting work. It'll be true investment piece. Wear in good health! x

have you thought about the diamond by the yard pendant from Tiffany? It is solitaire but more unique design. I also think for the same carat weight, the dbty appears to be bigger than a regular setting. good luck on your decision.

Thanks :smile1: what size is your solitaire ?

I can't wait till christmas:xtree:, this is motivating me for the last line of studying in the meantime :reading:

I'm not a necklace type of person but looking with the image link you posted, I think yes, I would consider buying the cartier pendant. But I have something in mind as well on what to buy if I have the right budget. I am considering a magnetic bracelet a friend recommend me. Aside from instilling fashion from it, of course, I am considering the health benefits it could give me too. :smile1:

So now I'm considering a vca sweet pendant in yg mop in addition to the solitaire :D (I'm awful at saving my money, I know :p). I think it's more of a wardrobe staple than the key, and it's a different brand which is also nice. And it has symbolism . And I really like vca .
But I will probably hold off on this one for a bit longer.

Before you buy the VCA sweet, try it on and compare it to the regular vintage size. The sweets are tiny. For work, the full size will be a better purchase, in my humble opinion. It's the size of a dime so still discrete. In fact, I purchased this size for my daughters (and they are still children ) because I wanted them to have something nice that they can wear forever.

Chiming in late here, but I am a fan of only spending 2k now on a diamond solitaire and saving up for a watch.

Seems like the best bang for the buck and will look professional.

I bought a tiffany prong set solitaire for myself many years ago and it is still a great go-to piece.

Save the 2k for the watch, you'll be glad you did, or spend 4k on the watch now and skip the necklace.

Oh the one from Tiffany is tiny. Probably about .17-.18 (3.5mm) round in a 4 prong basket set. It was about $750 at the time, which seemed crazy expensive! LOL.

It is very sparkly and I love it.

I had to get the chain lengthened a bit last year (easy to do and not expensive. Tiffany service is wonderful) and it still is a key piece for me.

Ok thanks :smile1:, glad to see you love the small size!

Oh and I think the watch will have to wait for my paycheck-savings because I have so many jewelry ideas in my head I doubt I'll have the patience to save now :D

Bumping my own thread:laugh: because I have a new love: the cartier orchid necklace:love:
What do you think? It's the mini size for the diamond version and according to the website it's 9mm. Both look lovely but the diamond would probably be more versatile?
Does anyone have this ? What are your opinions on it?

I love the mini and larger version layered together. I prefer the pave diamond for the next and then I like the multicolored for the fingers. Either way it depends on what you wear normally.

I was hesitating between the two necklaces because that's what I would tend to wear more.
I really like the rings too though, and the entrelaces ring in rose gold is really pretty too
