Here is the pic of my tiffany 0.23ct 4-prong pendant. I have it lengthen to 17'. diamond over 0.2ct comes with certificate, which provides you a "luxury" feeling in my opinion, without paying 10k at Tiffany :-) Plus you know the stats of diamond which is good

Thanks a lot :smile1:!! It looks great on you!
I can see how the .12 would be a bit small (I was comparing with my rose gold dbty which I like in .07 but I guess the same size would look a bit smaller without the bezel). I really like this size

Diamonds in same ct may look bigger in the bezel, but sparkle more in 4-prong in my opinion. I am not a matchy matchy person so bezel earrings and solitaire pendant would be fine for me

Try them on (if you can). I wasn't impressed with the aria until I saw the mod shot.

You'll know for sure if you try them both on.

I don't know if I would get the key if I got the aria.
Thanks, yes I thinking the aria could be a middle ground between the two. But I'm probably going to stick with the solitaire :smile1:. I'm so indecisive!

So I've been thinking about my jewelry plans.
I do still really want a little blue box to commemorate a special event, and I do keep coming back to a solitaire and a key (I just received a surprise tiny sapphire pendant, non-branded and beautiful :D). Most of my other little blue boxes were presents for the end of an illness.
But something doesn't feel completely right about getting both at once, if that makes sense. I feel like it would set a more reasonable tone to my spending habits if I just choose one (instead of spending all the leisure funds I have as soon as I have them), and it would make that one that more special.
So long story short, this has me wondering which one to choose. My instinct says the solitaire, but which do you think is the most "inherently Tiffany", or best value for the price if you will? I like the delicate craftsmanship of Tiffany items in general, and that's what I like about the design of the solitaire and the key.

As a European, I don't really understand this passion for blue boxes ;) I'm not into the keys either.
Anyway, the most Tiffany for me is the Elsa Peretti heart, but that's not the amount you're planning on spending, I guess.
(I'm pretty sure I'm not helping you here!)

But anyways, considering how you describe the key and explain its meaning to you, it could be a better choice than a diamond that would be just a diamond ;) ("just" as in "without hidden meaning")

Thanks, that's what I was thinking as well for the key :smile1:.
And I finally found a picture of it, by roma375, here it is

I am conscious that you are starting work but I would advocate that you go as big as possible with this price on 1 item. The reason is at this price point, you would want the item to last a long time as a classic in your wardrobe. 0.3 may look ostentatious at the moment to you but it may not in 10 years time.

I have many Tco items (i blame the PR marketing) and I hesitate to recommend them as they are not the best value ard. Most people will have different ideas of what's a classic Tco item. To my mind, the most classic (instinctively tco) would be the Elsa open heart, Elsa bean, Paloma single heart, the Atlas circle and the return to Tiffany tag. I have a soft spot for Elsa. The Keys, while they have been ard in their archives, have only been released in last 5-10 years.

My recommendation would be to go as big as you can re carat on a Tiffany pendant (bearing in mind you don't need a D/E/F colour for a small stone or a pendant), or pick somethg like an Atlas in gold with small studded diamonds for a modern look. Cheers.

I would recommend the simple diamond pendant in the largest size/ best quality you can afford. I agree with the poster who encouraged you to look forward to 10 years from now.
What you find understated now might just feel skimpy to you later. Even a 1ct solitaire can look tasteful in a conservative workplace.
The next piece I would encourage you to save for is a great watch. Timeless but solid. Not a trendy fashion watch but something you will wear throughout your career.
The key is pretty and the symbolism appreciated but I would agree with cung 's advice. These look great on a longer chain IMO. More of a fun after work piece, perhaps.
Good luck with your decision and especially with your new job.
One last idea- read the thread that describes the five classics or basic pieces everybody should have. Great words of wisdom. Think about the five core pieces that will always see you through. The rest is fun/ extra enjoyment.
