I should also mention that I've been focusing more on clothes/shoes/bags for the past couple of years (jewelry was last on my list, I wanted time to figure out what I really liked with costume jewelry). I don't have tons but they're good quality and I take care of them, so I think I'm good to go wardrobe-wise for now.
Idk if I'm overthinking this:panic:, I'm sooo nervous, feels like my first day of elementary school :faint:

When do you start your new job? It's totally normal to feel nervous but you'll soon settle in :smile1:

Get a larger Tiffany dbty if u can. IMO, The 0.26 is not ostentatious at all. Or anything in the 0.3 range. Heck even 0.4 doesn't seem that showy to me either. Hee Hee. My friend is about 5 feet and not even 100 pounds and has one about 0.35 size and I don't think it is too big on her at all. I have 0.35 as well and am already suffering from diamond shrinkage syndrome. Haha. Of course only you can decide what size is best for u. I would go try on various siZes at the store to determine what you like best. I originally got a smaller size 0.17 and am so glad I exchanged for a larger one. You can also look at pictures on the Tiffany dbty thread to get a sense Of how different size dbty necklaces look.

Thank you for your reply. I meant the 4-prong solitaire pendant though, this one :

I have a dbty in rose gold .07 and am quite happy with the size, and also the mini Tiffany metro cross in wg which I am content with, so I was thinking a small solitaire would suit me also

If you have any other suggestions for a similar sapphire pendant I'd be happy to hear. I like the Cartier one a lot but it doesn't absolutely have to be this one. It has to be purchasable in Europe though (import fees from the US are high).

I picked option 2 because I liked all 3 and I think you could use them. However I would try on the solitaires, because it makes a difference in how you feel about them. I have a large frame and small stones just disappear on me. I would go for at least 1/3 carat. If you are petite, a small diamond or sapphire might be perfect. When I was 25, I had a 1/4 carat diamond and it wasn't a big deal to my coworkers. The Tiffany label is a big deal and no one has to know about that.

The key will be nice when you want to wear a bigger piece.

Why not get the Tiffany pendant (as large as possible - a single diamond pendant will be discrete up to at least .75 carats imho) and a Cartier watch? They have beautiful watches.
While I would love that, it would be slightly over-budget :-).
I do love the Cartier watches and hope to own one some day, but the ones I have in mind are more than I can afford right now. So since I wanted the solitaire and the sapphire as well I thought I would start with that, and then take the time to save for the watch I really love.

Thanks, I agree about the label, the brand is for my personal knowledge and happiness only :-).
I have a small frame so I think small stones suit me, and I think I would be happy with the .12 or .17 but I will def try them on and see. If I end up wanting a bigger solitaire I'll leave aside one of the two other items.

Thanks, I saw your reply in the Tiffany thread also, I'm glad the .12 looks good!

Neither of you mentioned the key, do you dislike it ? I've wanted the solitaire and sapphire for a while, the key is a new desire. I like how it's small and delicate and sparkly, and also like the symbolism.

The key is just not my personal taste. I think it's too trendy and i just don't really get it. Maybe I just don't get the symbolism.

Well, the key to a new beginning I guess :-). It's been a rough past couple of years on a personal level :rain:, hoping for better times :beach:
(I'm loving these smilies btw^^).

I see it as a reminder that the key to my future and my happiness remains in my hands, so even when a situation feels overwhelming/despairing^^ not to give up and hang in there I guess (always a light at the end of the tunnel^^). I'm not sure that makes sense :thinkin: :-)

If anyone has modeling pics I would love to see :-) (I found a gorgeous .30 solitaire, hoping someone has a just as beautiful smaller one :-)).
