I would choose a bigger tiffany 4-prong pendant, at least 0.23ct and cartier sapphire necklace. I am not a fan of key pendant and think it would look better in big size an long chain as 30' at least. 3 necklaces worn together, at different lengths, would be easily get tangled and it could be very annoyed sometimes :-)

I am petite with 5'3" and 105lbs, and 0.23ct diamond look very delicate and discreet on me. I choose 4-prong vs dbty as it does not look like labeled "tiffany" but I could still enjoy the tiffany craftsmanship. I will try to take a mode pic of my 0.23ct later when I get home for you.

Thanks cung, if you could take a picture that would be lovely!

Not many fans of the key it seems .
I should have included larger solitaire + sapphire in my poll but I dont think I can edit it now.

I just saw that above .17 you could choose the specs for your diamond (I thought the limit was higher).
What specs would you recommend for this size zone ? Are there some above which there's no point going because you can't see a difference anyway?

This is what I found on the Tiffany website :
- Carat weight .18, color grade E, clarity grade SI1 : $1430
- Carat weight .24, color grade G, clarity grade IF : $2260
- Carat weight .26, color grade F, clarity grade VS1 : $2240

So the .26 is actually a bit cheaper than the .24, but is the difference in quality really visible ? I would think I would prefer an F color and VS1 if you can't see the inclusions without magnification (my diamond knowledge is quite limited!).

If you could do without Tiffany or Cartier, I'd recommend to get a solitaire pendant from Brian Gavin. With 4,000 USD budget you could have much bigger diamond and depending on color clarity combo you could have 0.5 ct+ even from their heart and arrow signature diamonds.
Other vendor I'd recommend is Whiteflash with their ACA signature diamonds.

Love all your choices. Are you looking for designer jewellery or investment pieces? Investment Tiffany diamonds hold their value best and the larger the better but you know that already.

You won't know which size diamond solitaire will suit you until you try it on so I'd plan several options depending on the first and most significant choice and start by finding the Tiffany diamond on a chain that you prefere then work through the other options available with the remaining funds.

Of course you will be wearing your new Tiffany piece when you start choosing the other pieces and be better able to judge which piece/pieces will compliment each other.

Congratulations on your new job and have a great time researching and finding your signature jewellery.

Without seeing them in person, I'd choose the first or last and skip the middle.

Thank you, but I'm not in the US :-/ (I gave my budget in dollars because it seems like most ppl on here are from the US, but I'm in Europe). I also do like the idea of the little blue and red boxes :-) for milestone gifts.

Thank you :smile1:.
I was originally thinking if I wanted a larger solitaire I would leave aside the sapphire and just get the key, but the sapphire seems more popular than the key here :-)

Thanks. On my country's website the only options available are .12 and .17. I don't know if that means the store doesn't have any larger sizes either ? (I do have family in America who could purchase it for me but I would like to be able to try the different sizes on...)

Option 3.

A .26 DBTY does not at all look ostentatious. Not even close :)
I wear mine with a half carat and 1 carat. But mine are martini set so look a little smaller.

Also, I adore Tiffany Keys and have a few. The platinum .75 is a great size. Not big at all, but not too small. It can be worn for those days when you want more bling factor than the .26 gives you.

Have you seen the key in person? It says "sold out" on the site.

I think the Cartier piece can definitely wait. While it's pretty, it's not a staple piece like the DBTY, and it's not as much fun as the key.

I was looking to get the 4-prong solitaire. I haven't seen the key yet. it's still available on my online store, I did see it was sold out in the US though.

A sapphire is stunning and it depends whither the stones you find will suit your skin also it is probably more of an investment piece. However absolutely love your back story to the key, that is a great bit of very personal talismatic (not sure if that is a real word the other choice looked to weird) magic and beyond price or logic.

You will absolutely know when you find the right pieces and it's well worth waiting until you do. Again have fun, you don't get to do this everyday.

Has anyone seen the Tiffany sugar stacks pendant in blue sapphire ? (Or another of the sugar stacks items with pave gemstones)
I've been curious as to what it looks like in real life for a while, is it sparkly ? How does it compare to the Cartier sapphire (it costs 900$ more than the Cartier...) ?

@purplepoodles Thanks again :smile1:. I'm definitely having fun searching :D (I'm at home buried under books, but take "jewelry breaks" every once in a while :-)). I'm hoping to find a deep rich dark blue sapphire, I don't know if the Cartier one fits that description but I'm sure hoping!

I was also wondering
- if a 4-prong solitaire pendant would look strange with bezel studs (personally I don't mind at all, but then again I'm not so much into fashion trends)
- what the ideal size pendant would be to go with .16 studs (.08 each) : if i go too much bigger maybe the pendant would overwhelm the earrings ?
