The most I've ever spent on single purse is $2600+ on a Chanel Jumbo Lambskin Flap. But then, I have more than 20 bags that cost more than $1K. I'm currently downsizing my collection to the more classic & practical pieces because I don't see the point of keeping those which I rarely use.

It really depends on how good/bad my business fared for the month at the time of purchase. If my profit is substantial, my spending limit is higher and vice versa.
I have spent $1000+ on a bag (or two) that I really loved, but I really didn't feel so good about it (even though the bags were gorgeous). I think I'm most comfortable with a maximum of about $600.
Well, thinking logically, I'm only a student, I only work in the Summer and I have fairly generous family members who like to buy me things....but BECAUSE I'm only in University... I think a really high priced item, such as an Hermes, is just way out of the question. I have the rest of my life for that.
The most I will spend is on a Chanel bag, preferably about 2K, but I know they are a bit more than that now. At this point, it's not really on the horizon..I'm hoping by next year though...we'll see. It would be nice to finally just have it and cross it off my list!

I can't imagine spending over $2000, but I'm sure I will someday. Before last week the most I'd spent was ~$500 for a Francesco Biasia... then I bought my first Balenciaga for $1400 (after tax).
Really, though, I think that anything over $250 or so for me kind of blends together... because then it enters the "save for it" category instead of just a thoughtless purchase. Then the only difference between a $500 bag and a $5000 bag is how long I save for it.

You know, I think I feel the same way. I've spent the past week feeling twinges of buyers remorse over my bbag. I lurrrve it, but I still haven't cut the tag out of the inside... just in case. I think once the 10-day return period elapses I'll relax.
Whatever I can afford. I learned a long time ago not to say what I would or would not spend on a bag because I broke my own rule.
$$1,000 and under anything over $2,000 is ubsurd IMO even though the only purse that i am in love with is the MC speedy which is $2,170 =[
Haven't gone over $1300. My most expensive bag is the MJ Stam (Almond). Haven't found anything else worth spending that much for. I'd like a Chanel (GST) eventually but that can wait haha. 
Ugh...I just spent $2000 yesterday on the LV Vernis Alma which was just released. I'm swaying back and forth between absolute head-over-heels love for this bag and a bit of sticker shock. Never thought I'd spend this much but you should see this bag. S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G. Will post pics ASAP.
