What is a bag you obsessed over, but ultimately did not buy (and why)?

For me I wanted to purchase the following:
  • Celine belt bag but after reading a lot I heard it had a tendency to tilt forward and lose its shape. That pretty much killed my enthusiasm.
  • Givenchy Antigona small. I really wanted this until I contemplated on the thick zip closure and what seems to be a small opening. Ultimately I felt that over time it would annoy me.
  • Fendi Kan I regular. I was all set to purchase this when I saw a picture that a member posted of her flap that was snapped off. I was immediately turned off the bag.
  • Fendi Peekaboo regular. Went to the store and promptly fell out of love with it. To me it just seemed too cumbersome to get in and out of it. Still love the look but not the practicality of the bag.
  • Chanel Jumbo Flap. Really wanted one but I realized after while that the puffiness of the quilt bothered me and would probably continue to bother me over time. If I could get it in the Chevron design then maybe I would consider it again.
  • Chanel new medium boy. I nearly pulled the trigger on this but I started to think if for the price point and size of the bag if I would truly use it.

I felt the same about the Peekaboo. Still love the look but not for me. The other thing was it would have been my first Fendi bag (although have had quite a few bits of RTW through the years) and I think I'm always more hesitant choosing from new brands when we are talking major outlay.

Lots of Gucci bags for a couple of years but I don't like microfibre linings. The closest was a python ReBelle. Had it had suede lining I would have def pulled the trigger. Adoring another ATM (Zumi) with leather lining so may succumb. I can see it being practical too.

Hermes Kelly Cut: Twice I've been shown lovely examples but one was in delicate Tadelakt leather and the other was bi-colour, nice for day but not for evening unless wearing all-black. The bag is small too so I'd have to leave my phone at home.

Hermes Medor clutch 23 in Vert Vertigo. OMG I was so close but that's quite a price for what is really a small 'jewellery roll' plus that green would have looked better with ghw. Really I know I want the old (now discontinued) 29cm or nothing. So it's nothing.

The thing is with clutches, I am going to hold it all the time, open and close x 100 every night, I can't go out alone without my phone and keys. I already have a fabulous H clutch that goes with everything anyway day or night, and fits my keys/card/lip/mirror/phone so I'm being very greedy anyway.

The Pochette Metis.
I do not know for the life of me why I got caught in this hype. It is not my kind of bag at all. It is true I am kind of attracted to satchel forms (but they don't work for me) and I like the vintage vibe. Heavily edited Instagram pictures made it look so nice against a white and cream background. So I somehow convinced myself it would be an ideal sort of everyday small bag to bump around in the Spring. Fortunately, it was impossible to get so I wrote myself down in the waiting list. From that moment on I started noticing certain things. How I was drawn to pics where it was held as a clutch but it was really very much a crossbody (not my favorite type of bag). How I hate compartments in small bags. How the proportions were "off". Then I started spotting more and more of them in the wild. To this day, I have never seen a PM looking good on anyone in real life. My own personal taste I realize, but it is usually carried crossbody and it is so unwaildy and bulky and doesn't do anything for anyone clothes or shape... So by the time LV gave me a call I was. what!? why would I want to buy that? :P

Although I still love the look of it the chain was very uncomfortable and too short to wear the bag as a crossbody.

2. Loewe Puzzle Bag
It looks so cool - unfortunately only on others.
On me it is bulky and additionally it is nearly impossible to find anything inside because of the narrow opening. A black hole bag.

3. Any bag from the Chloé Faye series
I am so torn because I love the 70s chic of it but I wasn‘t able to pull the trigger because I the ring-chain-combination which reminds me of some very weird piercing looks I have seen in the 90s where people had a chain connecting their ear and nose ring. (Anybody understands me? Maybe it is better for you if you don‘t... [emoji1])

Antigona mini : back and forth with this one for years. Would probably be impractical with my lifestyle
LV Neverfull : I check this out online at least once a week. Will myself to like it as it's such a popular bag and would be useful. Can't bring myself to like it enough buy it in canvas or leather.
Gucci Dionysus : didn't like strap length on the shoulder bag.

1-3: for the same reason, would not like to spend SO much for a bag (unless I earn so much money that I won’t care or sell a kidney). Plus we invested in a real estate loan and decent quality furniture (and soon in a dog) so I need to limit the bags for a while.
4: I wanted to buy it in DA St Tropez or the print of summer 2018, but decided to buy a speedy B 30 in DE instead. The Neverfull just isn’t for me no matter how much I like it and how many times I try it, I know in time it would mess my shoulder even worse

Every day for weeks I scoured the Hermès website for a Evelyne 29 . But when I finally put one in my cart, all of a sudden I didn’t think it was right for me, it’s open top, too casual, not pretty enough, etc.!

Celine nano luggage - It just looked awkward on me.
Chanel boy bag - chain isn't long enough to wear cross body for me.
Gucci Marmont velvet - I learnt that velvet wears out particularly badly on the corners.
Gucci Marmont leather - it just didn't feel as substantial as the Dionysus.

Givenchy Mini Antigona - It's been a loooong time.... Still struggling to decide if I want one badly enough! Bc it's on the heavy side for me, I like light bags. Found a brown + rare GHW combo that I love. In the end, love the look but Idk if it'd work out for me.
Celine Nano Luggage - Watched so many videos, love the look of it handheld but not crossbody... Still haven't got it, don't think I will.

Current obsession is the Loewe Barcelona Bag - so light, seems practical. Still hesitating...

Python Dionysus wallet on chain. Got a great price but the order fell through and can’t bring myself to pay full price on it. I am obsessively checking every vendor that has it though and may reconsider if I can’t find another bag as versatile for day to night.
Came back to update. Got it retail and as much as I went back and forth, she is incredible.
