What do you think about men wearing heels?

What do you think about guys wearing heels?

  • I love the look!

  • I hate the look!

  • I think people should rock whatever they want!

  • I hope this doesn't catch on, I don't want my bf stealing my Manolos.

  • It looks OK on some guys, but not everyone can pull it off.

I think for a man it is necessary to wear a thick or straight heel or a boot.. if they want to look *somewhat* normal (because it just isn't going to look normal). I have worn heels in public but it's never in seriousness; I know it looks pretty absurd, so I just wear the most fabulous, over the top shoe I can find.
Yeah, I think if a guy is to wear heels in public, he can't take himself too seriously and act like it's a normal everyday thing. He should act funny and fabulous, in pink Manolos of course.

Hi all, I heard about this topic and I wanted to provide my reply.

I myself am a young guy (20's) who wears heels and before I start getting all sorts of abuse I just want to say that I agree with you all that guys wearing stilettos and completely femmine shoes is a bit too far. I am talking about boots/shoes that could easily pass as guys shoes except for the heel. I am a straight guy and I wear them becuase I like how they look and the comfort of them, not for any fetish desires or any of that rubbish.

I first got interested in heeled boots for some very simple reasons. It all started when my girlfriend and I were due to attend a big formal event and after spending ages looking for shoes in my size or shoes that suited me I couldnt find any. I am a short guy (5foot 5) and I take a size 5 (UK) shoe. So after not being able to find anything and getting short on time my girlfriend suggested that I try to find something that looked mascualine enough from the womens department. As a joke I tried on some 3 inch block heeled, square toe ankle boots, but to my suprise I found that I liked the look and I found them really comfortable. So this started me off wearing heeled boots. I normally wear them with flared or bootcut jeans or dress trousers so you dont really notice the heel, except for when you sit down etc. Generally, the poeple who notice (which isnt that many) compliment me on the look and I even got a girl saying "I wish I could get my boyfriend to wear cool shoes". Just to demonstrate the type of boot I am talking about heres and an example of my last purchase:

these are the highest I would go.

I also notice that mens shoe deisgners have started to make these type of boots for men, but due to their high price tag and the fact that they start at size 7, I guess im stuck with the womens version. heres london based shops line.

(I like the "Charlie black leather" boot)

YSL also make the Johnny boot for guys but this is also highly expensive.

Anyway, sorry for the "long" post. I hope that I have convinced you all that guys can wear heels without wearing obviously femine designs or for fetish reasons.

Not to mention the ugly boots that clash intensely with the cheap looking, faded jeans which are a bit tight in the tush :P

A regrettable choice putting that photo up somewhere. I ended up disliking those boots also, and pairing them with the jeans I worked in that day was not good fashion. I forgot the original intent of the photo, but it was not intended to change peoples views of guys in heels. hehe

Remember everyone, bad photos live forever online ;)

I think it's incredible sexy on the right guy! I would love shoe shopping with a boyfriend if he liked wearing heels. I'm happily married to a man who doesn't like wearing heels, but I like to look at pictures of men wearing heels. It does all the same flattering things to a man's body as a woman's, elongates the legs, lifts the butt, defines the calf muscles. I also think any man who feels comfortable wearing high heels probably has a fun confident personality that I would like. Anyway, I have always found it sexy, but I like men who wear a little make up too. I used to talk my boyfriends into letting me do their makeup and then make out with them! So fun! Even the biggest jocks I dated would let me put heels and makeup on them in secret!

I was in the mall a year or two ago. And I saw a person walking and doing window shopping. I said to my buddy she has a great walk . The person had high heel pumps on and jeans. When we made it past the person I turned and noticed the person needed a shave. It was a guy in his 40's I think. He walked better in those heels then a lot of the girls in the mall. But from the back it looked like a girl. He had long black hair .

I was out with my husband the other day and we saw this beautiful man wearing outrageously tall Alexander McQueen stiletto boots. He was tall and built like a really flat chested female supermodel and he was so graceful and put together. I felt like such a basic ***** standing next to him, lol! I told my husband 99% of women could never look that fancy no matter how hard they tried. My husband agreed because he hadn't even noticed he was a man until I pointed it out, lol!
