Hi all, I heard about this topic and I wanted to provide my reply.
I myself am a young guy (20's) who wears heels and before I start getting all sorts of abuse I just want to say that I agree with you all that guys wearing stilettos and completely femmine shoes is a bit too far. I am talking about boots/shoes that could easily pass as guys shoes except for the heel. I am a straight guy and I wear them becuase I like how they look and the comfort of them, not for any fetish desires or any of that rubbish.
I first got interested in heeled boots for some very simple reasons. It all started when my girlfriend and I were due to attend a big formal event and after spending ages looking for shoes in my size or shoes that suited me I couldnt find any. I am a short guy (5foot 5) and I take a size 5 (UK) shoe. So after not being able to find anything and getting short on time my girlfriend suggested that I try to find something that looked mascualine enough from the womens department. As a joke I tried on some 3 inch block heeled, square toe ankle boots, but to my suprise I found that I liked the look and I found them really comfortable. So this started me off wearing heeled boots. I normally wear them with flared or bootcut jeans or dress trousers so you dont really notice the heel, except for when you sit down etc. Generally, the poeple who notice (which isnt that many) compliment me on the look and I even got a girl saying "I wish I could get my boyfriend to wear cool shoes". Just to demonstrate the type of boot I am talking about heres and an example of my last purchase:

these are the highest I would go.
I also notice that mens shoe deisgners have started to make these type of boots for men, but due to their high price tag and the fact that they start at size 7, I guess im stuck with the womens version. heres london based shops line.

(I like the "Charlie black leather" boot)
YSL also make the Johnny boot for guys but this is also highly expensive.

Anyway, sorry for the "long" post. I hope that I have convinced you all that guys can wear heels without wearing obviously femine designs or for fetish reasons.
