What do you think about men wearing heels?

What do you think about guys wearing heels?

  • I love the look!

  • I hate the look!

  • I think people should rock whatever they want!

  • I hope this doesn't catch on, I don't want my bf stealing my Manolos.

  • It looks OK on some guys, but not everyone can pull it off.

While a bad photo of me is in the original post, here is a more recent one. I do know heels on guys will not be everyone's thing, but it does not hurt anyone (except for our feet).

NO. Absolutely not. It doesn't go with the outfit. If you were wearing more feminine clothing, perhaps. But this doesn't work.

In the 70's there were platform shoes and boots that (some) men wore. I guess that was just a far-out GROOVY time, man! Not a real fan of men in heels like those in post #92. But if it makes you happy... Cowboy boots are OK, some of those have higher heels.

It depends on the person. I have several trans friends who wear heels all the time and I think that it looks awesome. I believe that people should rock whatever they want, and whatever they feel most comfortable in. That being said, I feel like for straight, heterosexual everyday men to wear them it might look very out of place in the state where I'm from as most people here are fairly conservative and do not even know luxury brands but in NYC I could see where it would be considered more acceptable. I wouldn't want my boyfriend to wear them (even if I was comfortable with it, and if he was comfortable with it which he wouldn't be, other people in public would probably be mean to him and I am not ready for that.), but as I said, for trans woman and other people, I think it is cool. As much as I become obsessed with shoes and clothes and the like, at the end of the day, a pair of shoes is just a pair of shoes--I never understood why strangers could be so harsh about that kind of thing.

Hmmmmm....a gay man in heels seems a litte odd but not totally unrealistic. A straight man in heels (in those particular styles pictured above)...that seems downright disturbing to me for some reason. :hrmm: I always assumed Prince wore them because he was self conscious about being short. :confused1:

Why would sexual preference have anything to do with footwear?
