What do you think about men wearing heels?

I think if guys want to wear heels they should try to make the whole outfit match with the heels. Be creative and have fun! Try out different looks and outfits. Personal style is all about experimenting with all different types of clothing until you find the things that you love to wear the most.

The part of the poll confuses me is why "I think people should rock whatever they want!" is so low compared with those that hate the look. I would think in this day and age it would be 80% instead of 20%.

Live and let live right? Even if you hate a certain look (say my dislike of the hipster culture), they certainly have a right to rock whatever they want!

IMO stilettos and dainty, feminine shoes don't look good on most guys but block heeled ones can work! For example, I loved Bruno Mars Louboutin heeled boots at the VS fashion show!

This whole thread reminds me ... the English language is full of phrases that reveal how many people have a subconscious bias, "feminine = worse" and "male = better." "Be a man about it," "Don't be such a girl about it," "Don't be such a p****y" etc. Most people are more comfortable with a woman who dresses masculine instead of a man who dresses feminine - and it's because of that subconscious bias. I like seeing people go outside gender boxes in their style or makeup, but I especially like seeing men do that - because I would love it if that "feminine = worse" subconscious bias just magically goes away someday. And I think men who borrow feminine elements in their style or makeup are helping to make that subconscious bias go away.

Chunky heels on men look totally masculine to me though; like cowboy boots, or that Bruno Mars picture. A thinner heel is the kind that looks like a mix of masculine and feminine to me when a guy wears it.

And I voted "rock whatever they want" of course

I see no reason a guy can't wear shoes with high heels? I only think they have to be of a chunky or wedge heel design to work with what he is wearing

In my opinion, heels are one of the greatest things ever. Shoes with heels--and the higher the better--are just absolutely gorgeous. I just love heels so, so much that I think anyone and everyone looks good in them. And they make just about every outfit look better on anyone. I think a potato sac would look chic with the right set of heels. So I'm all for seeing men in heels. My boyfriend's legs would probably be even sexier than mine if he were as obsessed with heels as I am.

I'm a guy & the closest i come to heels are high top sneakers with a built in wedge but not really noticible so it adds 2-3in to my height. I do really love these louboutin heels but i know i'd look ridicoulous & id probably never really wear them out. Still can admire them though from afar haha
