What do you think about men wearing heels?

What do you think about guys wearing heels?

  • I love the look!

  • I hate the look!

  • I think people should rock whatever they want!

  • I hope this doesn't catch on, I don't want my bf stealing my Manolos.

  • It looks OK on some guys, but not everyone can pull it off.

I just remembered I have pics! The first is me in a pair of Chloe boots; they didn't fit, so I didn't keep them.

And the next pic is me in an old pair of chucks rubber banded to footbed that had a 120mm heel and 20mm platform - I wouldn't wear these out, the shoes weren't attached well enough, but they *look* okay.

And this last one is me in my friends dorm in Chicago wearing her shoes.. just because.

:sweatdrop: Yuuuup.

You'd be surprised, there seem to be a lot of straight guys on the internet who like to wear heels in public. I went on one forum and there was a poll and about 80% said they were straight, many were married too, that's why I wanted to hear what the TPF ladies thought about it :D

Like another poster said, if one includes cowboy boots then I could see a poll like that being accurate. Otherwise, I cannot imagine straight men saying yes to heels with an overwhelming majority. If this many women find the look unattractive, who would that 80% date/marry? :shrugs:

I think you misunderstood the poll.. it's not saying 80% of men like to wear heels, it is saying that from a group of heel enthusiast men online, that 80% were straight.

Yes, what purplekicks said is what I meant. Out of a forum of high heel lovers, 80% of the men there were straight (and most of them were married).

There are some guys who have a vibe that says "I'm wearing this because I like how it looks and feels" and then there are guys who have a vibe that says "I'm wearing this because it's illegal to be naked". The former can pull off heels, the latter can't.

IMO, a gay man can pull of a simple leather heel if worn correctly. Imagine either of these Manolos (compliments of Barneys.com) worn with an appropriately hemmed trouser (draping over the heel rather than being cut "high water" style above it) and paired with a sleek jacket or cardigan.

Granted, if you took either of these shoes and stuck them on a man wearing jeans and a tee they'd look stupid, but in the right context they can work IMO.

I think for a man it is necessary to wear a thick or straight heel or a boot.. if they want to look *somewhat* normal (because it just isn't going to look normal). I have worn heels in public but it's never in seriousness; I know it looks pretty absurd, so I just wear the most fabulous, over the top shoe I can find.
