What do H fans think of LV?

I found some twisted logic in a personal notion that it would be wrong for me to buy LV objects as an H fan because of how LVMH sneakily tried to acquire Hermes stock behind their backs. Though I doubt that Hermes will ever appreciate or reward my loyalty, haha :biggrin::biggrin: Anyway, despite not being a fan of the Monogram I think their Damier line is very pretty and I always thought their Christmas limited editions are supercute.

I like LV SLGs. They are pretty indestructible. I am still using everyday a wallet that I bought from 2010 and I am beating it up. I spilled all sorts of things on it already, coffee, my son's apple juice, water and it still looks like the day I bought it.

This is one of the biggest reasons I don't like LV. That and the fact that every young girl around me is carrying LV just makes it less special to me.

I have always liked LV luggage because it's indestructible. But, even when monogram was the thing to have, I couldn't do it. Maybe it's because of my French mother who shunned anything with logos. That's why I'm very surprised to say I recently bought an LV Tuileries bag in monogram and leather. It was designed by NG and is actually a really great bag both in terms of appearance and usability. However, I had to buy three before I could get one without a significant defect. That's what Hermes does to you I guess. Anyway, it was worth the aggravation so far. Some days I just don't want to be as careful as I am with Bs and Ks and even Lindy's and Bolides. The truth is, this bag looks great (gets lots of compliments) and there is no way to wreck it. I can't deny it - it's a great beater bag.

I confess I’ve become allergic to seeing other people in my town carry the same bag that I have. Fortunately the LVs I have are LEs or very special so I can enjoy them. I know this post might irritate someone but I prefer to be honest.

I understand completely. Strangely enough, where I live, Hermes, Celine, Delvaux are more ubiquitous than monogram. Funny how the pendulum swings.

I love H but none of their crossbody bags work for me. The evie or berline does not appeal to me. I have the jypsiere but it's not easy to use either due to the closure. So I continue to go to LV for less fussy crossbody styles. I still like LV but of course, after acquiring Hermes - I do believe that H will always be the gold standard for leather bags.

Here Hermès bags are very rare, never seen a Delvaux and Céline bags do exist, one store has a small selection, but LVs are everywhere [emoji3]
