How much heavier is the giant hardware vs the regular hardware in the city? Is the difference substantial? Also, what is the price of city with GH, I want a mastic city GGH.

I found that the GH bags are significantly, noticeably heavier than RH bags. Not only is that hardware heavier, the leather of the GH bags are significantly thicker and in my experience not as smooshy/buttery as the RH bags. I MUCH prefer the leather on RH bags. What I love about Balenciaga is the gorgeous leather is light. Bags weigh enough as it is with all our stuff in it. I find myself falling out of love with a bag when it is heavy. Who wants to carry a boulder all day?

I find the GH in Gold to be entirely too heavy, but I tried on a bag with the GH in Silver and I was surprised by how light it felt - I really could not tell a difference between that and the RH weight.

No doubt the hardware is heavier but, hmmm, I disagree that the leather is not as smooshy or buttery. The leather varies just as it does on the RH bags. I have several GH bags and they range from smooth and total butter to heavily textured/distressed, and I don't think the leather itself is any heavier. Lots of variation. JMO!

The zippers are definitely bigger and more substantial though so that adds to the weight a bit as well.

I just bought my city with GSH and it is a bit heavier than the RG but it's not that severe like with a Paddy. The leather is thick, soft and smooshy and it comes very close to the 05 leather. I saw a lot of GSH bags and surprisingly the leather was very consistent on all the bags. There wasn't one bag without thick, soft smooshy leather.
I've never been a big fan of the gold GH but it silver I just love it.

I totally agree with Lola. Aside from the added weight, I noticed that the GH tend to hit so many things, like the side of my car when I get on and off. Or my table when I set it down. Worse thing that can happen??? I was in an antique shop and when I turned around, the GH hit an antique chair and created a loud clack. Thank goodness the shop manager did not sat anything and I did not check if the chair was scratched!

Ah haha! :roflmfao: Okay, I have knocked my car a time or two but thank goodness I have not destroyed any antiques. I definitely won't be taking mine in a china store!

Wow, I hadn't thought about GH hitting things. Bags do swing on my shoulder as I'm getting into/out of my car. My car is relatively new so definitely no GH for me!

hmm... i dont notice my PT GGH heavy for some reason... maybe its coz I'm used to carrying heapsa junk and books in my bag that I'm immune to the weight... I've never carried a paddy before so I guess thats why....???

also I only have 2 Bbags... one PT and one twiggy so I guess cant really compare since they're diff sizes anyway...

Hello All... I've been contemplating about purchasing a Work w/ Giant Hardware in the near future.. BUT.. there are 2 concerns that I'd like to get opinions on.. please
  • How is the weight of the Giant Work... will your shoulders fall off because of the weight?
  • Are the handle straps roomy enough for you to wear over the soulder comfortably?
Thanks everyone.. your opinions / pics.. are great appreciated...
