Sharing three of my small vintage finds:
Noe, late 80s, I sent this to LV in 2020 to have a full vachetta replacement
Mini HL, early 80s, fresh vachetta two weeks ago from LV
Montsouris MM, 1999.

The canvas is so thick and beautiful. I love these older designs. Mini HL is one of my most used bags.

I've been thinking of sending my mini in. How long did it take you?

Love them all

It looks great. How much did the mini leather replacement cost?
It cost 720 Australian dollars for the full replacement and that was in mid 2022. If you got the individual parts quoted separately (Eg handles, piping etc) it would add up to a fair bit more so it’s most cost effective to get it all done at once (plus there was a lot of patina.) The bag initially cost me about $600 aud so it worked out pretty well all up, given it’s impossible to get the nano In store and costs 2.5k in Australia.

Not sure if there is any Saumur fans out there. She is from 2003. I am her first owner and I have her with me for over 17 years. Just dug her out lately and still found her very versatile and easy to match with. Her only issue is there are tiny grey dots on the leather part which I don’t think they can be removed...?

We are bag twins. I got mine in 2013 for my birthday. I did not wear it for many, many years because I just didn't feel it. Recently I took her out and have been wearing it and loving it more every single day.

It's got such a casual vibe. Like yours, mine has minor grey dots too, I guess it's from moisture being in the box for so long. But I figured if I use it continuously and create dark patina, nothing will be noticeable. And in the future, I can always replace the vachetta. Here's mine.

PS: it's always wonderful when a celebrity carries a vintage piece that I own. It just ups its value.

Hello everyone , just want to share my newest baby that I have been searching for a long time. Gave up eventually, but saw this one suddenly on FB Marketplace nearby. Went as fast as I can out of the door to look at it, bargain them and brought her home ... She might look a little rough on the edges, but nothing more that some saddlesoap, magic eraser , and leather fat will help her back to its glory. Considering it cost me EUR192 , I considered Im lucky . No damage at all on the leather , no holes on the canvas also. I might going to get new drawstring some point, but for now I think she is one fine lady

Great score! Good luck with your restore.

FWIW, I tried the magic eraser on a vintage LV once and regretted it. The leather was never the same and I wound up selling it. Beware!!

My super vintage Pochette Compact-tour. This pouch is sooo old that when I took it to LV to have the leather tab replaced, they really struggled to figure out what the model was. It is a 1987 leather lined toiletry pouch in really good condition. I took it to LV to have the zipper pull tab replaced with the leather tab. It looks like a slimmer toiletry pouch 19 but fully leather lined. It looks new and I am amazed at how well it has been preserved over the years.

I have seen so many LV bags and SLGs from the 80s that are still in usable condition. Goes to show that with a little care, LV canvas wears like a frickin tank!
