How do you like the functionality of the Monceau? A bit stiff?

Plus I would love to see the final product after the rehab from LV!

I find it more structured good to carry around. At times, I prefer sturdy looks than those slouchy or soft bags. The bag is not heavy either, I find it more roomy compared to Metis, cause in Monceau theres only one compartment and no dividing sections. Above all, the classy looks with giant locks makes it looks better than Metis.

The bag is sort of repaired and some damaged found after repair  So its currently being repaired for 2nd time.

At a glance the repaired bag looks great! It was done in just one month. They have fixed inner sticky & mouldy pockets, reglaze the whole bag, and made a whole new straps for it and they changed the handle plus leather piece just above the lock, when I didn't requested for it:hrmm:.

However, when I took it home and was wiping the bags I found they didn't reglaze a side corner and it has peeled some of the leather and more issues found thereafter.

Took it back to the store only and found more cracks on the bottom of the side gussets:sad:.

Luckilly I took some photos before I sent it to repairs to prove that there was no peel. The manager handled the whole situation, he will send it back to repair with no charge otherwise it will be AU$225 per gusset. He also confirmed with the repair team, they didn't noticed the gussets cracks either so they will repair for free, but it will take 10 weeks since they need to recreate the same leather for the gusset. It has been a month now estimated restitution early December:noworry:

First repair paid approx AU$1.2k and some staff also misplaced my repair dust bag. So the repaired bag was given without a dustbag or a box on the day I collected it. The bag was just placed in the LV shopping bag. It feels not of expected LV services. I wasn't really happy, cause PF LV repair thread shows everyone who has done a repair got a dustbag. I've filed a complaint and the manager said once the second repair has been done he'll wrap it nicely . He called back later on, just to advise he confirmed with the repair team there should be a dust bag, cause the team shipped it back with the dust bag to prevent damages. Someone in his store is naughty.

So, the dust bag on the pic below is the original dust bag that my mom gave.

Here's my mom passed on vintage monceau 26 and side by side with it's modern sibling Metis. The monceau is currently in repair with LV, all replenish and revarnishing quoted price cost my arms and legs more exxy than what my mom paid the Monceau in the 90s. Even my SA thinks I'm overdoing it she said why not get a new bag, but its all about sentimental value and it'll be heir loom now  View attachment 4522682View attachment 4522685 View attachment 4522683

Who doesn't love a good vintage LV! Some were purposely purchased in not the best condition as project bags and others bought in better condition to use as is. The vintage bags hold up and well and have a great charm! Love the monogram with treated leather! View attachment 4449146
Newest addition to my vintage LV family. It can worn both long and short, the strap has snap buttons allowing it to be adjustable (like the neo noe and dauphine bag). Best of all it's treated leather so it's an all weather bag :) . Its leather lined so it gives it that thick and structured feel MVIMG_20191101_191008.jpg Screenshot_20191102-150902.png

Can you guys point me to where to find these Japanese resellers online?
Nearly my whole collection has been purchased from a japenese seller called Brand JFA on ebay. Have always found their pictures and written (though brief and short) to be accurate representations of the bags once I receive and inspect them. Some of these sellers also sell on other platforms such as Etsy too ! I have also purchased from Kurotoa

I’ve just finished restoring this Sac Passy from the 1970s. She arrived with me in quite a state and I’ve thkroughly enjoyed bringing her back to life. She’s a true piece of LV history
Hi i just bought one and mine needs touching up on the leather. May i please ask which product did you use to touch up the leather? I wanted to DIY restore mine just like you did :)

Does anyone know the actual name of this vintage wallet?

I love this! I don’t own any signature yet because vachetta is too high maintenance for me. What is this one called?

This one is called the sac passy (not to be confused with another bag released in epi also called the passy bag. This bag is about 27cm across . This one has a turnlock that looks like a padlock. See first pic

There is also another bag just a bit smaller than this that looks nearly identical but the middle leather detail is thicker which is called sac vendome and the turnlock just looks like an orderinary turnlock, doesn't look like a padlock like the sac passy. About 24cm across See second pic.

I initially wanted the sac vendome but I settled for the passy as at the time the price of the sac vendomes I could find were way overpriced (I overpaid for the sac passy aswell but the sac vendomes that I could find at the time were priced even higher ) . But when I received the sac passy I realised it was actually the right size for me and I wouldn't want to go any smaller (I'm not a mini bag person as I carry a full sized wallet) . I also like the padlock detail on the turnlock, so in the end I was really glad I went with the passy ! Screenshot_20191030-104814.png Screenshot_20191103-112322.png

Other monogram vintage bags I have with the treated leather/all weather bags are:

The sac Bordeaux . It has a removable strap so it can be worn as a shoulder bag or a clutch. First pic. Mine is the GM size, there is also a PM

The sac bandolier 30 . It has an adjustable strap so you can wear it as a short should bag or a long shoulder/crossbody bag. This bag is so old that it has the old eclair zipper. Screenshot_20191103-113409.png Screenshot_20191103-113428.png Screenshot_20191103-113448.png Second and third pic
