I am so excited to share my new-to-me 1997 Saumur! Found her locally at a consignment boutique and snatched her up. I think her patina is so beautiful!

Thanks for letting me share. This is only my second LV so I am very excited!
So beautiful, she is glowing!

Beautiful!!! I love the golden honey patina! I’ve always wanted a Saumur, but never got one. Now that I’m more into crossbodies, it may be time to reconsider! Although a Speedy B is still high on my list...

Thank you! I’m smitten
I love crossbodies so it’s a great bag for me as most of mine are pretty small. Definitely one to consider especially if you stumble across it in real life and can try it on!!

I have a classic Speedy although reading on the forum has me thinking I should consider adding a Speedy B to my collection down the line.

@mdcx thank you!!

I had a Mono Speedy 30 and a DA Speedy 25 at one point, I let go of both. I still have my Epi Speedy 25 in Tassili yellow, but rarely get to use it since I have a hard time with handhelds these days...

I regret letting go of my Mono, and have been wanting to replace it, but I need a crossbody strap or else I’ll end up not using it. A Saumur might be a good thing to consider, especially seeing your pretty vintage piece! I need space for my things, and random baby things when I don’t want to lug around a huge baby bag!

Definitely watch some videos on YouTube of what people can fit in their Saumurs! I watched a few that really sold me on the functionality of having the two compartments. I think it could fit the bill for sure. Speedy B will always be there!

There’s a very pretty one on fashionphile now!

Hello all!! I'm in the market for a vintage cross body - I've narrowed down my search to the St Cloud, Chantilly or the Cartouchiere. I hope to keep these longterm and possibly pass down to my future daughter or daughter in law. I'd love suggestions - pros/cons, costs of restoring (if you've done so). TIA.
My apologies if this was noted elsewhere.

I'd personally go for St Cloud as less hassle to go in and out of the bag as closure is not buckles. I have one and it's been one of my favourites!

I vote for the Saint Cloud, i had purchased a vintage cartouchiere but the buckle and continuous wear and tear on the leather strap that goes into the buckle turned me off. I thereafter purchased the Saint Cloud GM and I LOVE IT!!!! (you may need to clean up a sticky pocket or 2 ). It's structured, stands up on its own (i love that!), strong clasp, fits a decent amount ! Also i found mould growing on the underside of the leather that supports the bottom on the cartouchiere .i couldn't see it but i could smell the musty smell, the bag broke and the strap was exposed including the mould :(

The Bordeaux 2 way clutch bag is another option for a vintage crossbody (see pic). Comes in GM and PM size, I have the GM size. The leather is the vintage treated leather, no vachetta, so it's an all weather bag =). Straps are detachable so you can wear it from day to night and it has a long back slit pocket. The gold LV logo on the front is beautiful. It's lined in the same leather lining as the saint cloud and cartouchiere.

The black epi clutch is the montaigne which i altered, i added rivets at the back so i could clip a crossbody strap onto it. Again another possible option to look into. It's epi so its an all weather bag, can be worn from day to night. Leather interior.WIN_20180727_16_39_35_Pro.jpg
