I am so excited about my new-to-me vintage Speedy 25! I've been working on cleaning her up all day. Still more to do but she's looking good! Her canvas is in perfect condition, there are no odors at all, and did I mention that she's 28 years young? I used to own a Speedy B 30 in DE but sold her because she was just a bit too big. Then I started watching Jerusha on YT and she got me obsessed with the 25. I was debating buying new or vintage. I looked at this forum and you guys convinced me that I had to go vintage.

Lovely job! It looks so warm and well cared for. I just bought a vintage blue 25 and am waiting for it to arrive.

Thanks! I first wiped her down all over with alcohol-free baby wipes. Then used saddle soap on each of the leather parts by working it into a lather on a soft white cloth and then cleaning the leather. I then wiped remaining soap off with another baby wipe. After the bag dried I applied Apple Leather Conditioner. I watched a YouTube video explaining how to do it.

Thanks. I'll have to look into getting some saddle soap. I don't think i can get apple leather conditioner here in the uk though...

Hello all, i just purchased a vintage 1985 speedy 35, i am pretty good at getting authentic lv's but i am looking at this one and it is the oldest i have ever purchased. The date code tabs are not under the inner pocket, they are on the other side. Is does anyone know if this is normal for a purse this age? I cut off the MB on the picture.

This is normal. I used to have the same bag. Professional Authenticators confirmed it is authentic

Your bag looks awesome! My 25 was also born in January 1990.

Both actually. I use it frequently as a handbag, and I use it for travel when I don’t use my NF GM. I wanted it hot stamped, but the SA told me the gold letters don’t hold up good on the older bags because of the type of leather, and it would eventually peel off over time. He suggested the embossing which would last forever, so I agreed. I like the embossing better now.
