Hi! I love my side pack. Never thought about putting a water bottle in it but it totally fits. I added a photo of it closed wit the water bottle in it. The photo is with it at it’s longest and shortest setting, I’m 5’3” and soft around the middle ;). It’s a good sized bag with a little bit of weight, but I always wear it cross body and I don’t have any issues. I think you’ll love one.

Perfect, thanks!!!

Omg! Drooling here. They're all so beautiful. I, too, want a red one. There was one on eBay that just sold for 225. I tried to get the seller down, to no avail. There's a green one that I may buy and rehab, but I'm not sure what color I want first.
I saw that red one too, and it looked gorgeous. Too bad it sold, I was tempted. I will say, if you wait long enough there always seems to be another one that comes up that is in pretty good condition for not that much. The BT one I have I bought for about $90 and it was in perfect, unused condition. The black one from the Goodwill was $15. I was at the Coach store today looking at the Cassie, and it is amazing how similar Cassie is to the Court. Cassie wins in that it has better (more) dividers, but Court has much nicer leather.

And it is GORGEOUS!. The strap has a chain portion one each end near the teeny tiny little clasps that is nice and solid and brass-y feeling (in a good way, not in a brassy hair color kind of way). The rings to clip it on are on the back. It is very structured, and feels very smooth and beautiful. Has Coach earned back my love?

$90 for an unused bag is a steal. You're absolutely correct about waiting it out. Another one always pops up at a decent price. And your black Court turned out beautifully. FIFTEEN DOLLARS! Unbelievable.

I keep eyeballing the Cassie because its similarity to the Court, but the dividers actually deter me. I carry bulkier items in my purse, because I like pouches, and the Cassie just doesn't seem like it will accommodate or fit my needs. The Court's leather (and any of Coach's vintage pieces) are my jam right now. I don't carry a lot of stuff, but the pouches I use tend to need more space.

Did you end up picking any pieces? I saw you posted a photo of a Parker (maybe?).

Hi everyone,

Unrelated to previous posts but does anyone own a vintage sidepack 9979?

If yes could you post a either a mod shot photo or a photo of what fits inside? I tried finding this already in TPF but could only find authenticate this posts.

I've been contemplating getting a vintage one but I've never seen this style in person before. Specifically I want to know if it fits a small water bottle and how short the strap goes. Also I'm wondering how heavy the bag is. Thanks!

I love my sidepack! I think the leather is slightly thicker than other vintage bags - though when I compare it to my station bag it isn’t noticeably heavier. It definitely has a thicker strap, which I suppose should make carrying heaving objects like a water bottle more comfortable. I generally don’t carry much even when I’m using large bags so the bag isn’t too heavy to me. For me I find that the sidepack is more comfortable to use crossbody than the stewardess due to the longer strap. (I know I know they are completely different styles... just wanted to share).
I’m around 5’5” and I find that the strap is definitely too long for shoulder carry (especially because the bag itself is 10” long). It’s a true crossbody bag and I feel like my items are very secure when I’m using it.

Not my listing, but in case you are interested! (And if you are please get it authenticated)

I actually used my PCE to place a found order for the Beechwood Rogue 25. It is the first "new" bag I've bought in a while. I've been sticking to vintage for the past few years. The price point is just so much lower, so I can buy 3 or more bags for the price of one new one. And I have a nostalgia for the vintage bags that the new ones don't hold for me. So, I went in to see Cassie, just to compare to Court, and then I saw the Parker, and then I somehow got talked into getting the Rogue. It was a total impulse purchase. I was thinking of buying one in that color over the summer when they were 50% off, but didn't, and I've been kicking myself since then.

I thought it would be fun to do a comparison between the new "reimagined" Coach Originals and an actual original model. I was very pleased to see they remade the cute little zip top pouch I have from 1993. So many if the vintage bags are perfect just the way they are, but there are a few that need a tweek or two to bring them up to current functionality. The changes they made to this one are spot on. Slightly bigger to fit a smart phone, pocket on inside, adjustable strap. Does anyone have any of the other models and can tell how they changed?
Nice little Hadley! Yes, it would be fun, but I don’t have a Megan, Cooper Zip, Geometric Clutch or Quincy/Everett to share. I am sure others do. Once upon a time, someone gave me a cute little navy Hadley Zip they thrifted for a few dollars at yard sale, but I never used it and it went to a charity thrift store while I was clearing out before a move. Who would know I’d become such a collector/afficianado down the road?

I think I recall you saying somewhere that you like top handles, so a Rogue 25 should work well. I have two Rogues, the original release (don't know the size) and a Rogue 25 in black. The first generation one is bigger than I like and heavy, but the 25 is perfect. I understand buying vintage, I like a lot of pieces, and have a few, but I do like the older legacy pieces, as well. I think it was the 65th anniversary pieces that I may be tallking about with the legacy stripe interior. I'm equal opportunity and buy new and old, MFF and retail. If the style works for me, I pick it up. I try not to impulse buy anymore and really think it over, because there are a lot of regrets. Even with PCEs and discounts, they just weren't bags I would end up using. Perfect example is my Ace, which is really pretty and the color is to die for, but because it's a larger satchel (for me at least), it's a bag I don't use at all. I hate big black holes, like the Lulu posted recently. I almost picked one up for $50, because it's a looker, but hobos and bucket bags don't work for me.

Gosh, now I'm just rambling. Lol! Congrats on the purchase. Hopefully you enjoy using your new Rogue. Off to scour the interwebs for more vintage finds.

I was at the retail store today and they have this beauty: They called it a Parker Top Handle and it looks to me like a newly imagined Regina!

I am thinking the classic Regina (9983) might actually look really good with a tea rose turnlock! Is it possible to get an authentic tea rose turn lock from coach? (Lol it seems I’m always a few years late to trends...) I’m currently washing my Regina and I had to remove the turnlock because of a horrendous case of verdigris.. but it'd be so cool if I could put a tea rose turn lock back onto the bag!

I remember someone said they had one and its tricky to get into. Because the bag narrows at the top, its hard to reach the bottom.
Edit: I remembered incorrectly, it was an issue with the spring lock.
