I ordered this.

Y'know, I really wanted Coach to impress me. I thought that, just maybe, Coach Originals could be a new start for the brand, and that it could start my love for contemporary Coach.

I purchased that bag last night, for pre-order. Coach sent an email this morning that the item is out of stock.

I'm so unimpressed.

On their website, the item is still being listed as available for purchase.

I LOVE that bag and am seriously debating purchasing it (anyone know if PCE is valid on The Originals?) however I can't touch it and experience it and I've come to (in the last 3 to 4 weeks) really love the vintage leather and the pride that comes from rehabbing it. But that bright green does have me drooling....alot.
As does the Hunter green Dinky. I've always been a black, red or leopard green person, but going to London this past spring has me crushing on bags in every shade of green!

Love the way the green one looks, too. Curious about whether it's available, or if any of the Coach Originals are.

I purchased the bag last night, and Coach sent an email this morning that the bag is out of stock.
But they're still showing the bag on their website as available.

I hear you, about the vintage leather.
I dislike the quality of a lot of contemporary bags in general.
This bag would have been my first contemporary bag purchase in more than a year.

I don't mind Coach as a brand, but I moved away from them for a good 10 years or so because I found the market over saturated and I got tired of the same shapes. I do feel like they "found" themselves again - especially with the addition of Stuart. I bought the Parker 16 backpack about 2 months ago (EARLY EARLY birthday present) and like it, however I noticed a small hole in the leather near the grommet where the chain feeds in. It bugs me but not enough that I felt like driving the hour back to the store {I also have not had the time}. However I am a 50/50 on the "New" bags.
That shape that you ordered looks like the Vintage bag called the Quincy. However after doing some measuring this morning and researching, it's a SUPER scaled down version of it. They've taken at least 2 inches of the height and width. I like that it has a back pocket and the original Quincy does not, however the fact that it is MUCH smaller bugs me - not to mention more expensive!
I think I'll stick with vintage/preloved for the time being!

Such a disappointment! They must not have anticipated the demand.

I apologize in advance for posting three pics that look exactly alike, but I wanted to show you three straps. Also, sorry didn't post yesterday, I went to see It: Chapter Two and my day was shot after.

Here's the Regina with the strap she came with. The drop is actually 26 inches. Notice the smaller clasps.

This one is the Court strap, which has a 25 inch drop. Clasps are similar, but more substantial. Strap is wider.

Lastly, the Pocket Purse strap. This I believe is between a 22-23 inch drop. I think these clasps are called lobster clasps (?). And the strap is pretty thick, as well.

I will say, I prefer nonadjustable straps for the older bags. Whenever I look at vintage bags I look for the versions that don't have the adjustable straps. The newer iterations of the Court and Pocket Purse have adjustable straps. I don't mind it, I just don't prefer it. Hope these images help.

Thank you for the detailed comparison reginatina!! And the pictures. Always love seeing purse pictures I’m really excited to get my Regina. I think I will use the strap from my Winnie for shoulder carry but I think the Regina strap should work for me cross body with jackets and sweaters.

I am with you on the non adjustable strap. Most of my bags actually have the adjustable strap because that’s just how they came, but I agree that the non adjustable ones are just classier looking. The only problem is that sometimes they are too short and that’s hard to tell from the pictures.

I still can’t get over the beautiful green colour of your Regina. Congrats on the find!!!

Get a Regina! She's so timeless!

I can fit more in my Regina than my 1941 turnlock saddle. Back pocket is a perfect size for a phone. But the strap is way too long for me! There's a few solutions though:
I braided the strap of my Regina to shorten it. Some say this is bad because it stretches the leather but I don't intend to sell mine.
You could also get a matching key ring that clips open and attach to the d-ring to double up the strap.
You could use a different strap. A while ago someone posted a photo with a short chunky chain link strap that looked cool on the Regina.

That's just my opinion though. I'm not sure of the official color of my Regina but it seems white or ivory to me. I also considered black but I own too many black bags already.

Wait so are those vintage bags that they altered in the second photo or are they brand new bags that they will hopefully sell at some point? Such a pretty purple quincy(?)! Also was that a megan bag that they added a turnlock to?

Yup! The Regina is on her way!! And to be safe I did get the black one though if I really love it I just might pony up for the beige one as well.. we’ll see... There are too many bags on the list (and this forum isn’t helping any!), so I think I need to see this one in person to decide. If the strap turns out to be too long I plan to use my Winnie’s adjustable strap with it, since they are both black. Thanks for your input!!

ETA: How do you braid your strap? Sounds like it’s more than just a knot at the shoulder? If I do end up getting the beige Regina I would definitely braid the strap since I most likely won’t be able to match the colour exactly... so if you have an interesting way of doing it I’d love to see it. Thanks!!

That’s just feeble. Bummer.
Why is it up on the website now as preorder??
Side note, I would really love to know how many Willises they rehabbed and sold. And I would really like to know how hang, ballpark, in total were produced.

Bothers me that the bag is still being shown as available on the Coach site. People would have been ordering these all day, and they'll get nothing except credit card holds.

If anyone's considering pre-ordering a Coach Originals bag, you might want to call Customer Service before purchasing to see if the bag is available. (I called them earlier today, to make sure the order cancellation was correct, considering that the bag is being shown as available online; they confirmed that it's not available.)

About the Willises: one. And it was purchased by Stuart Vevers' mother. ;)

Finally finished the rehab on my Goodwill black Court. She joins her sisters British Tan and Green. I love this style. Now I just need a red one. Or blue. Or ......View attachment 4538449

Omg! Drooling here. They're all so beautiful. I, too, want a red one. There was one on eBay that just sold for 225. I tried to get the seller down, to no avail. There's a green one that I may buy and rehab, but I'm not sure what color I want first.

What I meant to ask, before auto suggest took over with hang, was how many Willises did Coach produce, meaning back in the 90s!!

LMAO. I am still wrapping my head around someone paying $600 for a used Willis. I’d be happy to sell them a distressed black Legacy Rambler for $25!
