More reimagined bags from the pop-up, no idea why they did not put them online. This is a small duffle (Maggie?) turned upside down; the former top has been sewn shut, the bottom opened and a kisslock installed. They also added a thin double strap. I think this one is the most creative re-work. Sorry, can’t take good pictures.

Another one, horrible picture quality, but better than nothing. I think this one has started its life as a trail bag (small, wedge shaped bag, like a smaller version of a classic pouch). They chopped off the flap, the front panel was replaced with a piece of a flap from a different bag, and a handle of a slim satchel became a top handle. This is the only one from the collection that looks like it’s been made out of parts of the bags that were beyond help.

Thanks for posting these. It's interesting to see what they're doing. This bag with the slim satchel handle looks like a frankenbag, for sure!

I need some advice... I am looking to join the Regina club here  and am debating between two bags I found. Both were made in the 90s and have already been authenticated here. One is black and the other is beige/white.

I would love to get both but I’m trying to not to that..

Black/dark brown is typically my default because they would match everything and easier to touch up in terms of colour (though I haven’t actually tried yet..). However, the seller might be questionable- even though the bag itself has been authenticated, I was also warned that the seller has very recently listed some fakes. So I don’t know how I feel about buying from her....

The beige bag is so cute! And the condition is supposedly lightly used (the pictures seem to corroborate but you never know). However, I bought a light colour Devon bag earlier this year and it was a lot of work to clean up! Even though I now love that bag and use it occasionally (nervously, I should add -I wouldn’t want to risk staining it even if it isn’t totally perfect)

I should add that I do have a black Winnie (and still regret not getting the beige one immediately when the seller offered it to me after I had bought the black). I think those two bags are quite similar in size?

Or I could skip the Reginas and just get the new trail bag??? what do you all think? I think I need to hear more points of view before I can make a decision!!! Thanks a lot for reading!

Get a Regina! She's so timeless!

I can fit more in my Regina than my 1941 turnlock saddle. Back pocket is a perfect size for a phone. But the strap is way too long for me! There's a few solutions though:
I braided the strap of my Regina to shorten it. Some say this is bad because it stretches the leather but I don't intend to sell mine.
You could also get a matching key ring that clips open and attach to the d-ring to double up the strap.
You could use a different strap. A while ago someone posted a photo with a short chunky chain link strap that looked cool on the Regina.

That's just my opinion though. I'm not sure of the official color of my Regina but it seems white or ivory to me. I also considered black but I own too many black bags already.

So went to the nyc coach originals pop up. It was great. The bags they remade were really pretty. Got some stuff. Good day. Wanted a pillow but when I went back and they were gone. Lol. All those bags hanging there are new bags remade in the vintage style.

Wait so are those vintage bags that they altered in the second photo or are they brand new bags that they will hopefully sell at some point? Such a pretty purple quincy(?)! Also was that a megan bag that they added a turnlock to?

The triple Dinky and the Satchel/Dinky combos are on the open shelves (as are all the other restored bags), you can touch them, examine them, like in a regular store. These creations are in a glass case toward the back , low shelves, not very noticeable, although they do have tags. Maybe at the end they decided that they won’t work, but kept them as props.

It is a frankenbag! Peering around that glass case I couldn’t figure out how it came together, other than the obvious handle.

Those are not vintage bags, they’ve all been made recently. And the bag that looks like Quincy is much smaller than Quincy, but a bit bigger than Everett and has a differently positioned handle (like Quincy).

Yes those are all new bags that, I think, are going to be made, or were made specifically for the pop up.

Wow. That’s all all I’ve got.
Hey Coach, if you’re going to go down a Franken-Bag path, how about just recycling parts of a vintage bag in a color block effect? Like a City bag with different color say, neutral panels, with blue or red or black added in, with contrast piping . . . I loved the color block Legacy bags they did 10 years ago or so in red, blue , camel . . . I liked the color block combo they used on the Double Swagger recently that was black, camel, burgundy, iirc. Okay now I want to search online for Legacy colorblock bags . . .
Thanks as well for posting the event.

I apologize in advance for posting three pics that look exactly alike, but I wanted to show you three straps. Also, sorry didn't post yesterday, I went to see It: Chapter Two and my day was shot after.

Here's the Regina with the strap she came with. The drop is actually 26 inches. Notice the smaller clasps.

This one is the Court strap, which has a 25 inch drop. Clasps are similar, but more substantial. Strap is wider.

Lastly, the Pocket Purse strap. This I believe is between a 22-23 inch drop. I think these clasps are called lobster clasps (?). And the strap is pretty thick, as well.

I will say, I prefer nonadjustable straps for the older bags. Whenever I look at vintage bags I look for the versions that don't have the adjustable straps. The newer iterations of the Court and Pocket Purse have adjustable straps. I don't mind it, I just don't prefer it. Hope these images help.

I have a couple vintage purses that came with skinny crossbody straps like the Regina! I thought I’d try them out - I have 2 reginas and both of them were missing straps, so I don’t know why I didn’t try this before. These both ended up having a 25” drop.

Here’s my mahogany Regina with the strap from my Green Casino:

Interesting! At first glance I thought they were restored vintage bags, but now I see the straps have been redesigned...they're longer, and adjustable. And how could I miss the turnlock added to the Megan?! Good eye LaVisioneer!

I really wish they would've done some bigger bags in this style, like a pony express. How hot would a bright red pony have been? And like an actual pony express not the weird tiny Amanda thing they made a few years back. A city bag maybe. Sigh!

Love it with the yellow. The pop of color really gives it a nice contrast.

Does the 25” drop work for you? Do you wear it cross body or as a shoulder strap?
