Isn't this a Pocket Purse?

Is is it called a "Dinky" here because their similar current style is called "Dinky"?
So...they retroactively renamed the Pocket Purse?

I'm confused.

Yes, they have decided to rename the Pocket Purse, trashing their own history and causing dismay to lovers of vintage Coach.

Speaking of which, I'm personally kind of creeped out about their prices for the restored pieces.
They're so far above fair market value for these items on the second-hand market.
Feels like, greedy and weird to me, but that's just me.

Makes me wonder what quantity they had available, and if customers are actually buying these.

And wonder if eBay sellers will try to charge the same prices (and will be surprised that no one purchases from them).

I think the prices are crazy!

I agree, what I can't believe is that the rehabed Willis's and the couriers are all sold out, like really?, for that much. I can get a Willis on ebay for $78 to $125 for a really nice one. I'm sure ebay and etsy will try to be cashin in on that train.

Lol these aren't even pictures of a British Tan bag and a Black bag. They're the same bag, Photoshopped.
(I get that Coach wants the thumbnails to match, but this doesn't really seem to be the right spirit for vintage.)

We won't show you the actual vintage bag you'd be getting, or a real example of the actual vintage bag you'd be getting, but-- Photoshop!

Btw I don't like how they Photoshopped these. I've seen much nicer-looking rehabs here! ;)

Coach figured out with their anniversary project a few years ago (if not earlier) that there is a healthy interest in vintage and they want their slice of the pie/market. And it could not have gone unnoticed by the Coach peops that she collaborates with, that Debitherestorer retails her refurbished bags for a nice chunk of change. And the Coach archivist has been known to buy hard to find bags for the Coach Archives off eBay, hence Coach is not only aware of thriving secondary market, they have used it to stock the Archives and used it for their prior vintage sale projects. Why continue to let Etsy, eBay, consignment shops, etc. make all the money on the Coach secondary market. Coach wants profit. Is anyone surprised? The only thing that surprises me is that Coach didn't start their own refurbishing service sooner.
Just makes me appreciate our little community here where we support each in upcycling and enjoying our finds!

Sometimes I think Coach tries to make it harder than it needs to be. I believe the new "dinky" is the old "Pocket Purse".

When they did their vintage collaboration with Barney's in 2016, I believe, they were calling Convertible Clutches Dinky's!! Yeah! As our favorite Dowager Dutchess would say, " tsk, how feeble!" lol

I could not agree with you more @Lake Effect

Yes of course I can knot the strap! can't believe I didn’t think of it! thanks!!

And with winter coming I think it’s probably going to work better that it has such a long strap. A small pet peeve of mine is actually that the strap on most vintage bags are too short to go over my bulky winter layers and coats.

That’s it. I think I’m sufficiently convinced... just ordered the bag, in black!

If you could check your pocket purse strap tomorrow I’d still really appreciate it. The pocket purse is on my list of purses I’d like to acquire some day so it’d be good to know if the straps are interchangeable. Thanks a lot!!

I apologize in advance for posting three pics that look exactly alike, but I wanted to show you three straps. Also, sorry didn't post yesterday, I went to see It: Chapter Two and my day was shot after.

Here's the Regina with the strap she came with. The drop is actually 26 inches. Notice the smaller clasps.

This one is the Court strap, which has a 25 inch drop. Clasps are similar, but more substantial. Strap is wider.

Lastly, the Pocket Purse strap. This I believe is between a 22-23 inch drop. I think these clasps are called lobster clasps (?). And the strap is pretty thick, as well.

I will say, I prefer nonadjustable straps for the older bags. Whenever I look at vintage bags I look for the versions that don't have the adjustable straps. The newer iterations of the Court and Pocket Purse have adjustable straps. I don't mind it, I just don't prefer it. Hope these images help.
