I have a question for everyone regarding signature bags. I have 3 sig fabric bags, all in excellent condition, outlet purchases that my sister gave to me when she cleaned out her closet. I know the sig fabric isn't super popular right now, but my question is- does anyone see this stuff making a comeback? Should I save these bags or sell while they are still somewhat desireable? I know fashion goes through cycles up and down, but the next question is- if it did make a comeback and get popular again, would you carry it all over again? Sometimes I find that doing a trend twice is a mistake, but I carried my Dooneys in college when they were trendy and carry them now so not sure if that applies in all cases. Now that I have rambled on, what are your thoughts?

Coach is still making bags featuring the sig fabric, but as far as older sig styles making a comeback, I don't see it happening. Personally I wouldn't carry one, they're just not my preference. But plenty of people still buy them, so that's just me.

I practice the "sort and release" method of wardrobe management. I would sell them now rather than keep them around waiting for something that may never happen.

I have never been much for logos so I am unlikely to wear the sig fabric or the current styles in sig canvas. Thanks for helping me decide!

Maybe someone on here who resells could advise you better on this, but from what I've observed as someone who frequently shops for vintage glovetanned leather Coaches online I've noticed the fabric C bags don't command a very high resell price. You might do better though selling them as a lot.

If you no longer feel the urge to carry them, sell while there is some interest. I am having an awful time unloading Mulberry bags that are perfect because I am easy on bags. Willows sold for $2400, Oprah had one, I paid $800 at an outlet and sold it for a measly $300 I was lucky to get last week and it was pristine. Had I sold while they were still current I might have gotten $500 to $800 but I waited, thinking they might rebound (the brand tanked shortly after the willow debuted) and it never happened. Gorgeous leather, made in England, but no one wants them.

In short, keep what you like and use, get rid of ones that no longer make you happy because waiting in hopes of anear full recoup rarely happens.

Does anyone have a Prairie (9954) that they use on the regular? I think that's going to be my next purchase, but the shape and size make me wonder if it's a bag that I'll really get use from. Does the curve at the bottom and the extra front compartment give it less space in the interior? I can work with smaller bags that are just one large compartment, but worry that this bag may not suit my needs. Decent ones are over $50, so I don't know if I want to waste that kind of money on a bag that won't work. Any input would help. TIA!

(Please note, I am not being snarky, just genuinely interested)

Why do you think this listing ended up with such a high price? The condition is not exactly pristine, and the bag is nothing special, other than having the strap attachments. BTW, do you think those are original and aren’t a later addition?

I get it.
It’s in good shape overall for the light color, IMO and is a good rehab candidate. It looks like two bidders really wanted it and I have seen that before. Once I saw a really meh City Bag way over $100. When I looked at the bid history, it was 2 bidders with really low feedback, that I assumed were newbies. As a newbie I got caught up in that once! I do think the side attachments were added.
Lol , Coach may be bidding on this to get their back orders on the Triple Dinkeys out :lol::lol:

Ha ha, good one!

I agree, a newbie bidding war drove up the price. But I'm surprised the high-feedback winning bidder offered that much...unless, as LE speculated, Coach (or someone working for them) wanted it. At $2000 bucks a pop for a Triple Dinky, I imagine $102 might seem like a reasonable investment for a parts bag. For a collector, I would think the added strap attachments would negatively affect the value.

But then, never underestimate the power of that legendary New York City creed.

If I didn’t already have a substantial rehab and re-rehab pile, I could go in that neighborhood (almost ) for a lighter colored NYC girl in pretty good condition. Almost!
Co-sign on the lure of the NYC bag/Creed. It got me on some late night bidding a while back .

Oh well, live and learn. The thing is, I love those satchels, and between the regular, large and watermelon, I have 6 of them, all from EBay, all were $30-50 shipped. I was planning to mutilate a couple of them by adding a strap because they don’t seem to be valued at all. But maybe with the vintage satchel/Dinky combo the interest is on the rise.

There is a pre-creed one languishing on EBay for $30, same color, a bit worse condition. Has a kisslock on its side, but doesn’t look like a Watermelon proportion wise. Maybe it’s the picture angle.

Did anyone here happen to snag that orange Courier on Mercari for $62?? I will trade you my first born child for that bag. (Jk!! I have no kids, never will.) I am so sad I missed it. And I missed it by only 2 hours on Sunday! :crybaby: I might actually be grieving the loss of that bag. There had been one on eBay forever for $200 and soooooo many times I almost bought it but it was out of my price range. Now I wish I had just bought it. Dang it I'm sad.

Just venting here, thanks for listening.

So very sad....
