Vintage collectors- does anyone have a city bag and a convertible clutch? I'm looking at these two styles and trying to decide which I like more. They seem to be similar in size, just that the flap on the convertible goes to the bottom of the bag and the strap is removable.
These are two of my early rehab favorites. Catbird did all the heavy lifting with specs, nice job. I like the City , as I carry my wallet and two not chunky per se, but definitely not slim, pouches. It accommodates them well. It has a longer strap, which works better for my daily routine. The CC works on days for when I want to pare down. And I agree, the corner seams are an interesting detail. The City Bag has a few functional advantages.
The City Bag has an outside back pocket; the Convertible Clutch doesn't.
The City Bag is 3-1/2" deep; the Convertible Clutch is 2-1/2"
The City Bag has an adjustable crossbody strap. The Convertible Clutch strap is shorter and is not adjustable, so it won't work as a crossbody.
Even so, a well-turned-out Convertible Clutch gets my vote for best looking. I love those bottom corner seams and the full flap.
Catbird, I would not presume to say we are vintage Coach twin souls, but we are at least vintage Coach sisters!

ETA I just saw Maven’s reply, I believe the CC by default came with the shorter strap, but it could be swapped for the longer one by request at some point. Other info on this is welcome.
