Hi everyone!
If possible, I'd like to ask about your experiences with the Court bag.
I got my first vintage Coach recently, which is a Court (made in the United States in 1998).
I'm considering getting a second one, which is why I'm asking.
It's a great style of bag for me, in terms of what I wear to my office. I'm a little concerned about durability, and was hoping someone has experience to share. I'm trying to avoid a bad investment. (I live in Toronto, Canada, which makes each purchase relatively expensive, with currency conversion, shipping, tax, and any import fees. Locally, vintage Coach seems hard to find, so I'm purchasing items on eBay from the US.)
On the Court that I have, I'm a bit concerned that the leather around the base of the top handle may stretch, or split in one spot. Also, one of the leather tabs holding the strap is ok, while the other is stretched out and the leather has thinned. I know vintage Coach bags are durable. I'm just wondering if anyone has an opinion on this style? (Or a similar style.) Is this typical, or are these bags also quite durable?
I think about this compared to a Willis; I'm aware that the Willis used a dowel so it could bare weight. (The Willis is a bit bigger than what I'd like for work.) In case it's relevant, I don't overstuff my bags (fairly large smartphone, wallet, compact, a couple of other small miscellaneous items, and sometimes a small battery pack). I would like to get quite a bit of wear from bags, and wear them fairly frequently. I rotate between under 10 bags right now for work. One of the reasons I'm getting into vintage Coach is because I'm tired of cost-cutting production methods and easily-scratched hardware on bags from contemporary mid-range designers.
By the way, does anyone know if the Willis fits a water bottle, with the bottle standing upright? (If so, I might consider that style.)
=D
Some fun shots of a recent photo shoot featuring some of my vintage Coach bags for @RestoreMN
My first vintage Coach bags. I kept remembering the orange Bonnie Cashin one after someone posted one a while back, and the purple station bag is so pretty. They are both excellent condition. I just vacuumed and cleaned the lining of both bags a little, but they were both pretty clean for older bags.

I had one once. I found it extra heavy because the inside compartments are all made of leather. I love the Plaza bag if you are looking for a larger satchel style. So I'm getting really into the vintage bags. I own a 1996 US Willis in Navy and I just found a NYC Pocket Purse in tan recently that I rehabbed into an amazing baseball glove feel and color. I really want to add to the collection and I was considering the Manor bag. Does anyone have/recommended this style? I love the Regina, but I think that is a little too small for me for an everyday bag.

I do want a top handle, I also am looking at Court bags, and even considered Casino style, but that may be too small. I've been on a top handle kick and figure might as well get a vintage that will last forever! It sounds like you enjoy top-handle bags - I personally like the Willis for it's size - not too big, not too small with slip pockets galore! I've also found the Patricia's Legacy bag to be really versatile; a larger crossbody with lots of room and a classic silhouette. My favorite style Coach made, however, is the Original Rambler!
The Casino bag is just as small as the Regina. Crosby is another top handle bag that is larger. If you don't mind a barrel shape bag, there are several satchels like Madison, Broadway, Baxter, club. If you don't need a shoulder strap, the watermelon bag is a good size. Also the Bleecker satchel.I do want a top handle, I also am looking at Court bags, and even considered Casino style, but that may be too small. I don't want that all over the internet...
I just purchased a pre-creed Courier on eBay and I'm in a little bit of a panic because I didn't have it authenticated first and I'm wondering if this might be a rehab waaaaaay beyond my limited rehabbing skills. The Courier has been my Holy Grail for a long time but they are never in my price range. Ever. So I did it, I set my max bid to about half of the overtime I worked last week and I won it. I'd be very grateful if some of the experts here would take a look at the auction pics and let me know what you think of the bag. I'm just hoping to be able to sleep tonight...I'm afraid this might be an expensive mistake. I guess my biggest fear is that there might me mold or mildew on the bag. I should have asked the seller but I made a very last minute decision to bid on it. Shame on me. Would you veteran rehabbers have bought this bag?

I don't have a lot of experience with eBay, if I post the link to the completed auction will it display my personal details?? I tried to post a link for a different bag to have it authenticated but when I clicked on the link it brought me back to my completed listing with my shipping address displayed. I don't want that all over the internet...
