Question for those who own vintage catalogs - When was Coach making bags in Flannel Grey and did slim satchels come in that color?

I have a bag that looks not quite black, especially next to a true black bag. I am wondering if it’s a color variation or it is indeed a dark grey/ asphalt color. The inside does not look darker, so it’s not fading. I tried to capture the color difference, but I suck at that. TIA.

The picture below is Flannel Gray fron the 1987 catalog. It's not even close to the color on your Slim Satchel, which is definitely a faded Black. There was also an earlier gray color that was even lighter and just called Gray.

Is Watermelon satchel a Bonnie Cashin design? I am going to a party with a 60s dress code, and I want to take a larger bag. I know it’s probably from the 70s, but if it’s hers, it means early 70s which can be stretched to late 60s for this purpose. I presume none of the “usual” vintage Coach - Stewardess, Convertible Clutch, etc. - were made in the 60s.

I have a pre-creed version, so it was produced while Bonnie Cashin was still at Coach.

Dear all, need some advice on choosing a bag. Due to the changing circumstances at work I’ll have to start carrying my laptop back and forth soon. Which is a bad news because almost none of my bags fit a laptop (current one is 13 x 10), and a good news because it gives me an excuse to do some shopping.

My preferences are: a tote style with longer handles that can be carried on the shoulder. Slim profile - pretty much laptop + phone + wallet. Closed top - at least a snap, but preferably a zipper. Wouldn’t mind a lighter weight. I already bought a Barclay. Anything else that fits the bill? I strongly prefer vintage unlined bags (oh, how I wish the Flight bag could have been just a bit bigger), but I realize that the laptops are a newer thing, so if you love your newer large bag, please feel free to recommend it too. Mod shots are appreciated.

I've been looking for a laptop bag for a while. I haven't been able to find any of the above to try, but I can advise against one style that I thought would work, the Sheridan Hollister Tote. The dimensions looked good (16.25" x 12" x 4.5") but there's a zippered compartment in the center of the bag that gets in the way.

Good Day all! I hope I’m not bothering anyone here. Can I please have your help with what style bag this is? I posted in the authentication thread already, but the name would help me research it a bit. Thanks so much for your assistance. Enjoy your day! [emoji4]

Thanks. #9785 looks great.

When I was digging around in the closet this weekend looking for kiddo’s Christmas gifts that I hid there, I came across this beautiful green Pocket Purse that I had stashed away there quite some time ago and forgotten about. So glad I found it just in time for the holidays! [emoji319]

A present for yourself!

Hello all! I have a saddlery bag and it has crinkles on flap opening below the turn lock after being dunked as shown in the photo. Any recommendations on how to smooth them out? Thank you in advance for your time and help!
